Every 4-6 months Sam's Club switches out their stuff and you can usually get it for around 50% off if you can wait. I didn't buy my stuff there, but I have seen their leather sofas go for ~$475 on occasion (regulary ~$1000). Not the best quality stuff in the world, but it's usually comfy and probably as good as anything you're going to find in a furniture store for less than $2k.

I was at Sam's on Harrison yesterday and they had a 3 pc. set (sofa/chair/ottoman) in brown leather for $898.00http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=381093&pCatg=6824

^ Yikes, $200 shipping on that! I only had one leather sofa but it was about $60 for delivery and the sofa itself was $800.I think it's kind of tricky to find a decent deal on leather furniture because people seem to keep it until it's worn out and frumpy (read: assy) looking. By that point it's cheap, but the furniture looks like garbage. That sam's thing is still a pretty good deal for $1100 shipped, though, unless it's got bad construction.I heard that the big lots up off of Glenwood (wherever it is, the raleigh location I think it was) that gets surplus Ashley furniture and sells it off for cheap. Could be worth a look, I heard the savings were pretty big on that furniture.

^ No shipping if you buy it locally. Just $898 + tax.I'm sure it isn't the best stuff in the world, but almost all the furniture stores I have been to in Raleigh were so scammy I wouldn't be surprised if it was on par with the junk they're selling for $2K. Of course, they'll claim it was originally $4k and you better hurry up and buy while it is "half price."At least Sam's Club doesn't try to pass their shit off as anything other than halfway decent furniture straight off the boat from China.
