PLEASE DO NOT RAISE SOCIAL SECURITY TAXES. I AM A SMALL BUSINESS OWNER AND IT IS ALREADY DIFFICULT ENOUGH PAYING ALL THE TAX LIABILITIES THAT I HAVE TO PAY ALREADY. RAISING THE TAXES WILL AMOUNT TO QUITE A SUBSTANTIAL BURDEN ON ME AND MY FAMILY. THIS WILL EFFECTIVELY IMPOSE A MASSIVE TAX ON THE MIDDLE CLASS, MANY OF US WHICH ARE UNLIKELY TO EVEN RECEIVE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS. BECAUSE I KNOW YOU READ THE WOLF WEB, PLEASE CONSIDER YOURSELF CALLED OUT.But really, please don't I already pay enough.

Since you probably don't provide health care benefits to your employees, be prepared to have to pay into the "Public Plan" for socialized medicine that Obama will create.PS you must be lying. All business owners are rich and can afford to pay for massive socialization of the health care industry.[Edited on June 6, 2008 at 10:58 PM. Reason : 2]

I definitely prefer the guy who's going to lower government spending by $100 billion. With magic.[Edited on June 7, 2008 at 1:26 AM. Reason : duh]
6/7/2008 1:12:01 AM
Was it $100 million or $100 billion?
6/7/2008 1:23:44 AM
^^ It'd be a lot easier to do with bullets."Sir I'm here from the governing council on pork barreling and efficiency. For every earmark you make, I'm going to shoot you in the foot with a very small 22 caliber bullet."I imagine we could save tons of money by empowering our oversight committees with guns. Make sure to hire people who aren't washington politics "insiders" and it'll be set. It'll be like some sort of efficiency-focused gestapo.[Edited on June 7, 2008 at 1:34 AM. Reason : ^ I hope it was $100 billion. $100 million is a jerkoff amount for the government to save.]

Barack is a generous man. He does plan to help alot of people, however create more govt dependency. THe problem is he is very generous with YOUR money. I have a fundemental difference that I somehow OWN my money and property, he does not. Im all for helping people, however it should be up to me to choose what to do with my money, not a politician. He gains support by "promising" not to touch the majority of the peoples money(which is simply a lie), but they buy it.His general attitude of punishing success and companies that produce jobs, products that better lives, companies that save lives is astonishing. The govt should leave them alone, actually all of us. I wish the majority of washington woudl take thier asses home and let me keep what i worked for. Or at least make it fair that everyone pays thier share. He does make pretty speeches and posters/bumper stickers.. And thats all that really matters.

Exactly... a society that encourages ownership always has a fairer distribution of wealth because there's incentive for hard work. I work 16 hours a day and I can't remember the last time I had a weekend off. What do I get for this? More taxes... It is already incredibly difficult to run and operate a small business in this country with all of the government red tape everywhere... When I registered my s-corporation, I got a nice letter from the IRS explaining the penalty for not paying taxes, but provided nothing to help me understand how to pay the taxes. I had to hire someone, basically, to keep the government off my back so I can get busy creating jobs and wealth for other people, including myself. And all that Barack is going to bring is MORE of this, more hoops to jump through, more money out of my pocket, more government oversight...
6/7/2008 9:45:36 AM
Obama has a line to walk. He's betting that there will be more votes from the people he's promising other peoples' money to than from the people he's going to take the money from. Let's hope that's not the case. The gov't gets way too much of my money now.

ours. Also, I bet you question the validity of that statement because your definition of "fair" is vastly construed to fit your ideological model.Fair means, basically, you get what your work demands. Fair to you probably means that everyone has the same standard of living, no matter their contribution to society. I find that, inherently, unfair. What hoops? The having to pay into the medical care system if your company does not provide health insurance.[Edited on June 7, 2008 at 11:44 AM. Reason : .]

i'll admit that there is more than one possible solution to a problem and that my ideas are biased, it's people who think that they're spouting objective truth that are obnoxious.

I wish the government would just do everything for me. I don't ever want to own a private business.I'm one lazy ftard
6/7/2008 11:54:27 AM

^^ By increasing the already high tax burden on the middle class?I did buy Quickbooks. I bought the payroll addon. STILL, when the IRS sends you a letter within days of filing for your business stating the legal ramifications of what could happen to you if you fail to pay your taxes all the while providing nothing, not even a "file these forms" guide, it amounts to nothing more than harassment of an individual who wishes to do things by the books.I eventually got my shit together, I figured out all the forms, I paid all of my taxes, and yet here comes obama, wanting more.
6/7/2008 12:22:57 PM
i like how obama hasn't even been elected yet and IRS customer relations are already his fault

Barrack will not raise ss taxes. JHe's surrounded by too many smart economic advisors - they won't let him do it.I know most of you are used to bumper sticker politics, so it will be hard for you to realise that Democrat does not automatically = Commie. It worked great for you the last to terms...OMFG GORE AND KERRY ARE BOLSHEVIKS, but it won't this time around.
6/7/2008 3:45:12 PM
Obama has already called for raising the income cap on SS taxes. That is effectively a tax increase for anyone making more than $100,000 per year.[Edited on June 7, 2008 at 3:53 PM. Reason : 2]

He's doing what Democrats do to get elected- promising voters someone else's money. The Republicans are just as crooked with different rhetoric, but the Democrats buy votes with taxpayer money.

odds are i'm still going to vote for McCain, because i've been his groupie since i can remember.but i know Barrack is not going to be a lock step liberal. he's too smart and has too many smart people around him who know what the deal is. there is a danger of having him in there with a leftist congress. too many laws get passed and too much spending occurs.

Ron Paul FTW
6/7/2008 5:59:56 PM
^ exactly. Obama's supporters don't have to actually earn their money, so they don't have any thing to worry about when the government comes to take more of it.And the problem with the Democratic party is their perception of "wealthy." They want to tax the "wealthy." The problem is, to them, 40K is "wealthy".

Dear Barack,Please pick Hillary as your VP in order to completely alienate the libertarian and moderate voting democrats from the party; thus ensuring John McCain an easy win.ThanksNathan

what kind of libertarian would support a Democrat? that's totally fucking pointless!
6/7/2008 8:04:28 PM
actually, I think Hillary being on the ticket would be moderating the ticket. Obama is far left, hillary left, mccain left of center.

You are blaming obama for only lowering the long term capital gains tax? All of that happened when Bush and the repubs had control for everything. Basically, the Bush tax cuts are almost meaningless to me because of games like this. The silly part is that even if Obama goes back to clinton tax levels, I can still do better if he also puts in place another round of house subsidies. Which politician am I supposed to froth at the mouth over in this situation?[Edited on June 7, 2008 at 11:46 PM. Reason : And im in top 10% of household incomes, so im paying a shitload of taxes]
6/7/2008 11:40:26 PM
wtf are you talking about. Obama wants to raise your taxes across the board. Income, SS, capital gains.I am morally opposed to any person who continues to punish productivity and responsibility to reward laziness and irresponsibility.Ive just demonstrated how you get punished by the govt for doing responsible things, like investing. You want to blame bush? fine. I blame washington in general. Although bush let people keep more of their money. Always a good thing in my book. Imagine the retirement account you could have if the govt taxed you less, didnt tax your savings, or didnt tax your money when you pass it on to your kdis. It would only take a couple generations before people didnt rely on our govt to wipe thier ass, food, shelter, fucking, gas, childcare, healthcare, medicine.

6/8/2008 8:52:22 AM
It's appalling to think about how many people view the "government" as an entity with unlimited resources that can hand them out as it wants. I even talked to a guy with a master's degree who thinks that printing up more money will save the economy. A good many of the voters for Obama think that the govt is a perpetual cash cow, and the rest want to get or give away somebody else's money.
