He should not select Hillary because there is too much bad blood between the 2 and their supporters. After all his "time for change" rhetoric, it would look hypocritical to pick the kind of Washington insider that he's been blasting over the last 4 months.

Ted Strickland: Ohio Governor. He's got executive experience to balance Obama's legislative experience and as a Hillary supporter that could help bring the party together. And Ohio is definitely a swing state.

Kathleen Sebelius: Kansas Governor. A red state governor with executive experience and a strong history of bringing red's & blue's together and as a strong women could help bring over some Hillary supporters.

Those two would be strong balancing forces. But I don't think he'll pick either of them.

I think he's going to stack his cabinet with big names from all across the party. Some former Clinton people, some new people, and probably Edwards and maybe Richardson. And I'm beginning to think he might pick Hillary because its the strongest message of healing he can send. Very few Obama supporters would see her as a first choice, including myself, but if he makes can make it into a message of healing the party and then healing the country rather than a washington insider vs outsider then I could see him going that route.

My personal taste would be Obama-Edwards 08, but I'd still vote for an Obama-Hillary ticket if they had the right balance of advisers, cabinet members, and other officials.

'Bama needs to pick someone who increases his voting base and can be an asset for supporting his weaknesses, i.e., foreign policy and executive experience. Richardson would be ideal in that area, though there are other problems with that pair-up

Hillary's a tough old bitch, and she needs to be handled smoothly so she doesnt turn her supporters bitter. but she would be a liability, i think, as a running mate. just give her a spot on SCOTUS and call it even.

Hasn't been governor of Colorado long, but he has experiance as a DA, is popular across party lines in his state, especially in rural areas, worked as a missionary in Zambia for two years - seems plausable.

Jim Webb, Secretary of the Navy under Reagan, Vietnam vet. Only person with substantial national security credentials to minimize McCain's advantage in this area. Currently Senator in Virginia.

I am interested in

1) Michael Bloomberg

2) Allyson Schwartz


Both help with the Jewish vote. Bloomberg might also give a boost in Florida and with Business Republicans concerned about Obama's record on the economy. Schwartz might also give a boost in Pennsylvania.

Though it still seems that his best bet is Hillary Clinton and soon. Uniting with Clinton soon, he could play the "I want to be a Uniter. I want to bring everyone together no matter what. I am above all that" card. If he waits then it will look like Clinton is a more calculated choice.


Though I like Webb, I think only Hillary could have picked Webb. He has some serious problems with Women that would only magnify the pain of Hillary loosing to Obama.
