Apparently, NCSU isn't being very dog-friendly today If anyone can help spread the word, it'd be greatly appreciated! Also, if someone knows anything to the contrary, please let me know. Otherwise, here's an email my sister passed along today. I wish I could help but 3 in this townhouse is too much as it is!"In case you know anyone who can helpNC State apparently has 9 laboratory dogs that they are done with and are ready to have adopted or taken into rescue. If these dogs have not found a safe place to go by May 30th, they will be transferred to a TERMINAL lab study. This is tragic. C.A.R.E. For Animals cannot take any more in, but is hoping to find a foster home or two so that we could take a couple of them in. Please consider a 1 time foster situation to help one of these dogs. Below is a link with pictures of them. They are between 4 and 8 years of age. There is a Beagle, a couple of Hounds, Lab mixes, and "other" mixes. They all deserve better.....http://www4.ncsu.edu/~lnshewmo/dogs/index.html Please pass this on to any friends, family or co-workers who might be interested in helping to rescue these laboratory dogs! Please contact Susan Mitchell, founder of C.A.R.E. For Animals, at 919-938-0501 to let her know your willingness to foster a rescued lab dog." (I couldn't get the link to load when I posted this, but maybe it will come back?)

message_topic.aspx?topic=527707That link was from somebody else about the same thing. Apparently it's not as bad as everybody thought and it seems likely that all the dogs will find homes.

^ Thanks!!!I've indirectly spoke with him before about some great fundraising events for rescue/adoption programs so I'm pretty sure I can take his word, but it does make me wonder how a "internal memo" could have been so dire when his reply makes it seem to the contrary.

^ I think he was just plucking at people's heart strings so he would get a more overwhelming response.Saves more dogs than if you just say "oh, we have a few dogs to get rid of, they might be put to sleep if nobody collects them in a month". Plus he can make that second hero-memo and make everybody all smiles, especially the people who were compelled to adopt a pet. It's genius!
