And this somehow makes the news? Give me a break. I dont like his politics, but this is pure bullshit. How PC has this country gotten. He apologized for it too. WTF
5/15/2008 8:40:02 PM
Unless i'm mis-reading your post, I think we agree on this issue.
5/15/2008 8:42:41 PM
no, this "issue" is total bullshit. I couldnt fucking believe they had a segment on this, and actually found some woman on there to talk about HOW its offensive. Things must be pretty good in this country, when people want to bitch about being called sweetie.Honestly moron, when they first started the segment, I got pissed bc I thought they were talking about how nice obama is for calling a female reporter sweetie.. I was like.. giveme a break.. then I was shocked when it went negative. I really thought I was hearing it wrong.[Edited on May 15, 2008 at 8:55 PM. Reason : ..]

I obviously don't like PC either. But I'm telling you, if a Republican had done this, the press would have gone apeshit. You know it--you all know it's true. I'm not even going to debate it.
5/15/2008 9:01:40 PM
Drunknloaded would have said "look broad"

a "stealth marxist." lol. whatever. the dude's slightly left of center, but still fairly moderate ... Anyhow, it's the "Congressional Branch" of government who passes the laws, didja hear? the real concern is related to *actual* presidential powers, and that there there will be at least 2, and quite possibly 5, Supreme Court Justices retire in the next 4 years.McCain says he'll appoint justices in the mold of Samuel Alito.fuck THAT.[Edited on May 15, 2008 at 9:51 PM. I know. fuck that stupid Constitution. Who needs rights?
5/15/2008 9:57:27 PM
Was it a white woman?
5/15/2008 10:07:34 PM
This is a plus in my book.
5/15/2008 10:16:44 PM
After the press conference he should have smacked her on the ass and told her, "good game."
5/15/2008 10:17:36 PM
5/15/2008 10:32:19 PM
^ I also somehow doubt there's not a video somewhere of a Republican calling someone sweetheart or sweetie or darling or something along those lines. It's amazing that someone would think to make an issue out of this.McCain called a 14 year old girl a "very attractive young woman" and I don't think anyone in the media made an issue out of that.
5/15/2008 10:38:39 PM
Obama is a mack daddy that pimps black women and white women.
5/15/2008 10:45:01 PM
All this nitpicking by the media seems to be making Obama a bit more tense than he has been in the past, and this new "scandal" doesn't help him in this regard.I wish we could see more of this Obama:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fdloPRuWR_4
5/15/2008 10:48:33 PM
Obama pimps white women with 54 double d's.
5/15/2008 11:54:42 PM
^^^^ And? Can you not even see the difference?Look, I'm really not trying to defend McCain or even attack Obama on either issue, neither of which I thought was a big deal. But try calling a grown woman "sweetie" in a professional situation and see what happens--it's light years from simply telling a young lady that she's pretty. In the McCain situation, I would have used "pretty" instead of "attractive"--but I would probably stay away from commenting on the appearance of people in general--especially women. In addition, just about any 14-year-old girl is happy to be elevated a bit in years and self-esteem by being referred to in a positive way as a "young woman." Don't you remember the first few times you were called "sir" as a sign of respect. Well, it probably hasn't happened for you yet, but keep letting those chin whiskers fill in and who knows. . . .[Edited on May 16, 2008 at 4:35 AM. Reason : .]

5/16/2008 11:26:23 AM
You know, I'm a chick and I'm offended that this is being made into an issue. Who gives a shit, honestly.
5/16/2008 11:32:58 AM
excessive political correctness annoys the fuck out of me. can we please talk about the real merits and flaws of the candidates/parties, or does it always have to degenerate into schoolyard taunts and bumbersticker one liners?
5/16/2008 11:36:13 AM
It does, because sadly the general public is still a great unwashed mass. Believe it or not, the debate here on TWW's Soap Box forum is relatively high brow and being put forth by people who are more intelligent and better educated than the majority of the voting public. Think about that for a second and then be afraid, be very afraid. There are people on here who honestly believe that he Iraq war is going just peachy and others that think that the wealthiest American's still aren't paying "their fair share" of taxes.

^^well first, which is it? do you not think its true or do you not think its a big deal?
5/16/2008 3:02:35 PM
i would like to know what the red menace was that you're referring to
5/16/2008 3:18:47 PM
communist thought
5/16/2008 3:21:17 PM
i don't think that any thoughts are a menace.
5/16/2008 3:22:13 PM
thoughts in themselves arentbut thoughts put into action certainly could be...for example, obama promising bank accounts with money in them for everyone
5/16/2008 3:24:16 PM
5/16/2008 3:25:56 PM
Arrogant and Elitist.I am not faulting him for saying that, it was an innocent mistake. The thing is he is fighting an certain image that is not going to appeal to a lot of voters. This incident just adds to that image.
5/16/2008 3:27:47 PM
^^i'll try to find a link...they were playing a bunch of audio from one of obama's speeches yesterday on the news and he promised savings accounts to everyone, with some money already in themglad to see you agree its a wild communist nightmare though
5/16/2008 3:28:52 PM
Once again Tree misses the point entirely.I I I I IThose I's represent pillars. Put 4 and 1 together.

another moronic one-liner by boonedockswith no explanation, obviouslybut you dont think its relevant that one of the presidential frontrunners has communist friendsi'm sure his next post will be no different]

And even the dumbed-down explanation goes over his head.

5/16/2008 3:47:16 PM
^^was your wife your mentor and spiritual advisor for 20 years, or was she your best friend in hawaii for 8 years?oh yeah and to pull out another strawman from the boondoggle bag of tricks, are you running for office?^"friends"...you mean people he has met through politics? or friends, like, people who he has confided in and spent years and years of his personal time with?you guys are great at spinning things though[Edited on May 16, 2008 at 3:48 PM. ^^and again, neither of the people you've associated with obama have changed anything. they had ideas and voiced them. i don't think this is a menace in ANY way.[Edited on May 16, 2008 at 3:51 PM. Reason : freedom of speech and association is a bitch]
