Mobile? that place sucked like 3 years ago when I was there for 6 months, it must be really bad now with the economy the way it is...you couldnt go out after dark because of all the homeless bums around.

We just had several days of rain...a little flooding but not too bad... Melbourne/Cape got hit pretty hard with the rain.

^6, Really? homeless people everywhere? I've never been bothered by homeless people here ever.

Actually because of a few factories in the area that are going strong and if Boeing doesn't screw it up for us, the new tanker will make Mobile like RTP circa 1990. Home values are down a bit but no where near as bad as some areas.
Downtown Mobile actually has quite a bit going on, and a lot of the bars don't close!
