I've not really kept up with using moisturizer or sunblock on my face like all doctors recommend for people who spend any time outside. So, I want something that's noncomedogenic but with a healthy spf. What do you use and where do you buy it?

get some Cetaphil facial moisutizer/lotion. they have a normal lotion that is noncomdeogenic but theres no spf. the type of lotion that is specifically for the face has spf 15. not positive on where to get it but i know a place like walgreens at least has the normal kind.

i have dry skin, so i use oil of olay facial moisturizer with spf 15? 30? basically every day. i buy it at Target or Wal-Mart (shudder) I guess. i also like neutrogena products. another facial lotion i have used in the past (reccomended by my dermatologist) was Purpose facial lotion. It had an spf of 15 or something +, probably bought at the same places.

I think I'm allergic to SPF, it all makes me break out. Almay moisturizer for oily skin with spf 15 isn't as bad as most for me though.

I am extremely fair skinned so I use Oil of Olay w/ SPF everyday under my make up.

I think I have sort of fair skin. I don't really know though because I hardly ever tan my face. All the facial products I have used in the past have had benzoyl peroxide in them too, so that takes color out of your skin anyway. I think I have oil prone skin too. Most products (make up included) I will use for a couple of weeks and it will be great, but after a few weeks I can't get through a whole day without noticing oil build-up. On top of this, I have kind of bad skin. I have finally gone to a doctor about it (after about 8 years forgetting about it becaue Accutane didn't work) and am now using 2 kinds of topical treatments. One is making my skin dry out, which was expected and I don't really mind. But I was reading the info about it again tonight, and it said that it was ok to use a noncomedogenic moisturizer along with these medications to help cope with the dry skin - so I want to give that a try.^^ It may be because you've not been using noncomedogenic products.^ Does your make up still apply ok and stay on all day? I noticed that you have very clear skin too, so you may not have to really worry about anything besides even application.(I've not used make up but maybe 3 times in the past 3 weeks to help the process.)When I was on Accutane and seeing the dermatologist every month, I remember getting free samples of Coppertone Sensitive Skin Oil Free SPF 30 lotion. I remember it being awesome and not making my skin oily after putting it on. However, I just tried to look it up, and its been discontinued. [Edited on May 12, 2008 at 11:36 PM. Reason : ]

NONCONDOMGENIC

My skin is very sensitive. As a teenager, I tried to use over the counter acne medications and they would dry my skin so badly that it would crack and bleed. I started using Oil of Olay then at my mother's recommendation to moisturize the irritated skin and moisturize without breaking me out. It's a good moisturizer for an over the counter grocery store brand. It really isn't greasy and absorbs very quickly. My make up actually looks better if I moisturize prior to putting on my foundation. And I definitely don't have any problems with my make up staying on.Cover Girl also makes a tinted moisturizer with SPF that you might want to give a try. I am not sure if it is noncomedogenic, but I have used it in the past and really liked it. You might like it if you are avoiding make up because of your skin, but you'd like a moisturizer w/ SPF that offers a little coverage.

knowing != caringYeah I know SPF is the rating system but I'm too apathetic to go look at all the shit I've bought and find the name of the chemical that's in all of it.

if you are fair-skinned you should wear at least SPF 30, especially on your face

^ I think we all knew what you meant, I guess some of the chit chat trolls/nazis made their way over here (elkaybie not included!).So, oil of olay and cetaphil seem to be the most recommended. I really wish I could find that Coppertone! [Edited on May 13, 2008 at 11:57 AM. Reason : ]

I bought the Oil of Olay Complete All Day Moisture Lotion SPF 15 for sensitive skin. I just got back from the store and put some on. It didn't feel oily or greasy. I almost got the Cetahpil, but it was a big bottle, and I didn't want to waste it if it didn't do well for me. This one is 100% oil, PABA, color, and fragrance free, noncomdeogenic with vitamin E. Lets hope it works out. If not, it was only $5.[Edited on May 13, 2008 at 3:47 PM. Reason : ]

I just started using Eucherin for Sensitive Skin with SPF 30. I like it and it doesn't bother my skin which is extremely sensitive...I used Oil of Olay with sunblock for years, but it started making me break out. I've used a clinique version (sample) a while back and I liked that too, but it was expensive. If you go to Barnes and Noble (or I guess any bookstore) in the beauty/health books section, they have a book that rates skin products and makeup. Its really good at telling you the best stuff to use and what is bad for your skin and what is a waste of money, etc. Book: Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter without Me by Paula Beguon

The Clinique stuff is pretty nice. They have both a moisturizing sunblock and a tinted/foundation esque one. I got mine for free. Sadly I can't really use them, I'm either indoors all day and prefer my normal makeup, or if I'm going to be outdoors for any length of time it's SPF 60 for me. My choices are ghost-white and lobster-red.
