I need a trailer to haul my junk on. I want to spend >$1500 bc if i can find one for ~$1200 my pops will pay for a wheeling trip out west.I need it to haul my yota truck thing, and be fairly light since its getting pulled for the most part behind an F150. I need brakes on at least one of the axles. Some of you are more resourceful in the trailer world than I am, so help me out. I will buy new or used. Here is my rig for info. ~112" wheelbase. ~4000lbs.

scavenger craigslist daily. they show up on there for 900-1000 regularly. your rig is light enough you could get away with a standard car hauler that's going to weight a lot less than an equipment type trailer. call united rentals also, last i was there they were getting ready to sell a couple of their older ones.oh, and count me in for an out west trip. i want to hit moab again as well as some other places.[Edited on May 12, 2008 at 2:00 AM. You supply the tow rig, ill supply the trail tampon.Yea, ive been looking at craigslist, but its so damn hard to weed through all the non-trailer bullshit posts to actually find trailers. Ill keep looking. Ill call united tmw and check with them.

I was looking for a trailer and to be honest with you if you can spend an extra 400 you can get a brandnew trailer from Kraftsmen trailer in Siler City NC. They build a nice trailer and build it the way you want. I bought mine about a month ago, if you wanna come check it out let me know

^damn it, i wish i had known you were buying from there... i would have given you my name to use as a referral. they give out gift certificates. that's who built my trailer also, and the only local place that was willing to do the custom options i wanted. it wasn't cheap, but i never have to worry about needing a bigger trailer, overloading it, etc.if you're considering new, i would actually recommend kaufman over kraftsman if you don't have any need for custom options (they won't do them). i found their prices and willingness to negotiate to be a little better. quality is basically identical between the two, the owners are brothers. both places get trade ins also, might be worth calling them.

The 150 will pull it OK, not the best, but it will get me to the trails until i land a job and I get a bigger tow rig.Ive found a company called Burke Trailers that has a 16 foot, car hauler for $1650. Im going to check in with them this week and see what they have. Pops said he would rather spend the extra $500 and get a new trailer anyway.http://burketrailers.com/7000gvwcarhauler.html

Probably a good idea. After you replace some decking, deal with the bearings, patch the leaky tires, and fix the lights 90% of the trailers that "seem like a good deal" are actually not so hot.
