And now for something completely different......http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/18706http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yg7-DDnRpXk&fmt=18It's a sandbox style game that combines FPS with elements from Prince of Persia. Looks really really neat, hopefully coming out this holiday on PS3/360/PC.

watched the trailer for this yesterday. I wonder if it will stay that fast paced through out the entire game?
5/8/2008 2:06:48 PM
I've always found jumping puzzles to be difficult and unnatural in first person games. Without being able to see your character it's often difficult to judge jumps and landings. It seems like there is always too much guess work and not enough precision. Having your feet visible is a good thing, but I'm wary that a game seemingly centered on jumping around will become frustrating because of the camera view. I hope it isn't though, because it looks really cool.just watched the producer's interview video on youtube, and apparently it's not a "sandbox" game.[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 2:32 PM. Reason : .]

a free running game, awesomefirst person, not so awesomei'll probably check it out
5/8/2008 2:48:47 PM
impressive
5/8/2008 3:54:17 PM
it did remind me of a long, drawn out Scion commercial with the freestyle walkers
5/8/2008 4:25:04 PM
It reminded me of Crackdown in 1st person but without guns.It could be really awesome, but I have my doubts w/ the controls if it stays in 1st person.
5/8/2008 4:26:02 PM
I just watched the HD trailer on the big screen, and man, if you're not impressed by this shit just go ahead and quit gaming.
5/8/2008 5:52:23 PM
everyone knows that it looks great, the reservations are about how the game will control in a first person view because it seems to be so centered on jumping/movement. The jumping puzzles in every fps I've ever played have been frustrating so excuse me if I'm worried that it will be the same with this game.
5/8/2008 6:44:21 PM
^^ We did the same thing, and have the same sentiments.
5/8/2008 6:45:03 PM
ttt
11/10/2008 8:42:11 AM
hey nacho, how is it
11/10/2008 9:08:37 AM
The live demo of it seemed pretty easy to control. They did an impressive job of making it so you can tell what's going on. I just don't know if it would stay fast and engaging for a long time.
11/10/2008 9:11:36 AM
I still love the concept but I dunno, didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. A little too much trial and error gameplay for my taste. Someone with a little more patience and willingness to really master the mechanics might like it more. However, they basically made the perfect blueprint for a true 3D Sonic game. Sega, take note.
11/10/2008 9:21:05 AM
i'll play through it once to get a hunch of points, then probably trade it awaydoubt this is a keeper
11/10/2008 9:22:32 AM
I liked Penny Arcade's take on it, haha. Feel free to embed the comic if you wish.http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2008/11/3/
11/10/2008 10:35:28 AM
i have 10 copies of it prereserved at Gamestop. there's no restocking fee on returning an intangible prereserve, and this way it's pretty certain that my prereserve will actually mean something.
11/10/2008 1:56:26 PM
^that's fine so long as you're not screwing other people along the way
11/10/2008 1:59:24 PM
wait, why 10? are you going to try and resell the game or something? Or is this your method of making sure you get 1 copy?
11/10/2008 2:07:41 PM
It seems to be some method of being a douche, but I may be wrong. However, this game does look pretty awesome.
11/10/2008 3:57:12 PM
It's a way to ensure he gets a copy. Gamestop in it's infinite wisdom always sells more preorders than they get shipments of games. Lots of times people who preorder a game months before it comes out won't get it the day of launch because someone who ordered it a week before just happened to get to Gamestop and get their reserved copy earlier in the day.
11/10/2008 4:27:40 PM
yall make sure to go to XBL Marketplace and download the demo...i think its right around 1GB...I dunno if it will have longevity but most reviews I've read are in the 9-9.5 range which sounds good...and the graphics and camera angles are pretty sweet...you die a lot but dying is actually pretty fun in this game
11/10/2008 4:51:28 PM
11/10/2008 7:43:02 PM
I cant wait for this game.Yeah the demo was difficult at times to figure out where in the hell to go. Which is refreshing for me. A BIG world with no clear path? Awesome. The combat mechanics were very weird, but we'll see
11/10/2008 8:23:53 PM
Definitely will be stopping by (some place) to grab this tomorrow. Releases November 11th, right?
11/10/2008 8:42:59 PM
yeah.I think i'm gonna pick up Resistance 2 before i buy this. that and Hellboy II tomorrow
11/10/2008 10:07:52 PM
11/10/2008 10:19:51 PM
you can keep the bag
11/10/2008 10:31:58 PM
played the demo. it was fun as hell. will definitely borrow from my friend who buys every 360 game that comes out
11/10/2008 11:47:06 PM
has anybody been able to kill the group of bad guys at the bottom of the AC duct? i killed one with a slide kick and a couple quick punches but i was immediately shot to deathwhen you're leaving that area for the stairs though, you can wall climb that first wall across from the stairs and then do the LB, RB, LB move to bounce off the wall onto the stairs
11/11/2008 12:38:48 AM
"I know why we have reservations""I don't think you do, if you did I'd have a car. See you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation. And that's really the most important part of the reservation. The holding. Anybody can just take 'em."Or anteprereservation, or whatever it is you call it.[Edited on November 11, 2008 at 8:46 AM. seems like a great game based on the demo, but the perspective is a HUGE flaw. I'd be buying it if there was an option to switch to 3rd-person.
11/11/2008 8:51:51 AM
so wait, what is a prereserve?are you reserving a spot to reserve your game? i'm confused
11/11/2008 9:02:18 AM
^^the perspective is the whole focus and acclaim behind the game. if it were third person it would just be a glorified platformer and wouldn't set itself a part from anything.
11/11/2008 9:09:42 AM
^^ pretty sure it's just not a word
11/11/2008 11:58:45 AM
Gamespot 7.0
11/11/2008 2:36:49 PM
All this for 60 bucks?
11/11/2008 2:41:28 PM
my thoughts exactly.
11/11/2008 2:43:18 PM
60 bucks = 2.5 months worth of Gamefly
11/11/2008 2:43:44 PM
This is not even a budget title game, straight rental. 6 hours, no mp, and no incentive to play it more than once...
11/11/2008 2:44:55 PM
i dunno, i've already played the demo like 7 times
11/11/2008 2:47:55 PM
OK, go buy it.
11/11/2008 2:50:02 PM
ok i'll go buy it right now even though it comes out tomorrow
11/11/2008 2:52:52 PM
why am i glad there is not another great game out there i have to eventually play
11/11/2008 2:53:57 PM
^^ Damn you got a badass hook up! Can I cop a copy too? [Edited on November 11, 2008 at 2:54 PM. Reason : /]
11/11/2008 2:54:02 PM
i pretty much rent all games nowadays, and if its one i want to buy i'll buy it through gamefly with a nice discount
11/11/2008 2:57:59 PM
I don't play enough games to invest in Gamefly, but its totally worth the money, and not only that I need to get out of the house at times, and having games all the time doesn't help.
11/11/2008 2:59:49 PM
Anyone get this? I was going to, until I read the reviews here and realized that paying 60 bucks for a 6-8 hour game is not worth it.
11/17/2008 2:09:22 AM
^Likewise. I'm going to rent it whenever I get around to it.Heavenly Sword 2
11/17/2008 9:24:02 AM
Does anyone else read the story of the game and think Johnny Mnemonic?
