Someone recommended a place in Raleigh that will let you bring your dog. I've forgotten what it is, but I'd be interested in knowing any place that'd let me bring my dog.Anyone know some places?

Whole Foods hot bar + eat outside, but not if your dog is vicious.
5/8/2008 12:29:20 AM
holy shit, what a horrible idea. how self-absorbed can you get
5/8/2008 12:52:33 AM
5/8/2008 1:02:25 AM
really, wtf.
5/8/2008 1:55:51 AM
I second Mo Joes, my friend brought her dog and we all ate in the covered porch area.

please do not take your fucking dog to a restaurant. I have a dog, and am a dog person, but jesus christ i don't want a strange dog staring at me while i'm trying to eat my dinner out.
5/8/2008 7:55:12 AM
You can take your dog to Jax and eat on the patio outside.

5/8/2008 8:59:57 AM
lillys and i would guess 3rd place, flying saucer, pretty much any place with a outdoor eating bit, like the village draft house in CV
5/8/2008 9:11:56 AM
bringing your filthy animal to stare and salivate at me while im eating is pretty rude.buy hey, why think about othewr people
5/8/2008 9:35:49 AM
I tend to find half of the US population grosser than my dog. Eat inside if you don't want to have to be possibly looked at by a dog.
5/8/2008 9:42:50 AM
my dog only stares at me when we dine out b/c i have "sucker" stamped on my forehead and am a sure thing...she wouldn't waste her time and saliva on strangers.[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 9:46 AM. Reason : ]

I really am having trouble understanding this business of taking one's dog out to eat. Are you people really so attached to your pet that you cannot bear to be without any longer than absolutely necessary? Are you trying to show your pet off? (In that case, pick a better audience) If it's about letting your dog see and explore new places - well, that's what taking it on walks is for.Really: why would you do that? You can spend plenty of quality time with your pet without taking it to a restaurant.

taking a friendly dog to sit on a patio at a bar or rest. is pretty common in cities
5/8/2008 10:15:35 AM
if you dont want "a dog to stare at you when you eat" just eat insideno restaurant can allow dogs inside for obvious health/sanitation reasons

Plenty of people are allergic to pets. Lots of children are afraid of dogs. Its just basic courtesy to keep your dog at home. This thread is starting to remind me of one a while back about breast feeding in public.
5/8/2008 10:26:27 AM
The only time I take my dog with me to eat at an outdoor restaurant/bar is if she is with me already, aka riding in the car when i decide to stop and dine. She typically curls up underneath the table or sits by my chair, people who want to come up and pet her do, otherwise she pays them no mind. I don't really mind either way if people have pets in public, but I don't think its quite acceptable to deliberately bring your dog to restaurant, especially if they aren't socialized well.
5/8/2008 10:31:35 AM
oh Dog friendly... never mind.
5/8/2008 10:33:29 AM
i dont know how i lived in raleigh for 5 years and never ate at ten ten
5/8/2008 10:35:18 AM
I dont think anybody is saying its ok to bring your dog to a restaurant if he's wild and will run all over the place and bother other patronsbut if you dont want a dog looking at you eating, or if you're allergic, or if your kids are scared...SIT INSIDE AND EAT]
5/8/2008 10:44:35 AM
^^ Shit was bananas. I never ate the mexican themed foods they would put out though... like tacos and enchilladas... I was like... hmm.. I'll stick with the General Tso's Kitty.

it's downright unsanitary to allow dogs at restaurants. who knows what some dogs are carrying, when the last time they were washed, etc.
5/8/2008 10:53:08 AM
It's only unsanitary if someone decides to come pet the dog and then go pick up their food with their UNSANITARY DOG HANDS and eat it. Dogs don't radiate germs just by sitting under their owner's table or chair. And good dog owners typically keep their dogs up to date on shots and baths...
5/8/2008 10:55:22 AM
but you're already dining outside with the flies, mosquitos, dust, pollution, pollen, germs, wild rodents, birds, etc
5/8/2008 10:55:43 AM
and a nice 50ft layer of air ground up contaminated with fecal materiali can go into more details if you would like...

Sonic. My dog would go apeshit for taco bell drive through too, that was definitely strange considering she liked it more than hamburgers.Sometimes you have your dog out with you going on errands, and OMG some people even take the dog on vacation with them! Living on the coast meant some long and boring hurricane evacuations so taking the dog and cat for walks (yes, leash trained the cat too) and giving them fast food was the best way to make sure we didn't have to listen to 10 hours of whining, barking, meowing, pawing, and running around.Got some STRANGE looks at the rest stops when walking the cat. At least he was good with peeing outside so we didn't have to haul out the litter box (indoor only cat unless leashed).
5/8/2008 11:33:30 AM
you give your dog taco bell?
5/8/2008 11:35:11 AM
many chic-fil-a's carry dog biscuits at the drive-thru window to give out to dogs
5/8/2008 11:35:46 AM
I love eating outside w/ my dog. She just lays under the table and relaxes. I dunno, its just nice to have you dog hang out w/ you doing random "people" things. My experience w/ other ppl and her eating w/ us has always been positive. PPl either ignore her or say aww shes cute or nice and good, etc. ppl love dogs.

Depends on the type of errands, as I take my dog on errands a lot. Bank drive through, drop something at the Post Office, pickup/drop off items (drycleaning etc), often returning from a walk or discgof. At most the pup is in the car alone for 2 mins. She loves riding in the car as do most dogs. So rarely (~once a month) I might stop for food and she tags along.

wow. some of the comments in here remind me of my father (who shot a puppy in the head when i was little to forgo euthanasia costs)i dont know.i love how when i get home my dogs act like i'm a fucking rock star coming into a building.i can guarantee you know one else gets that excited when i come home from any other workday.i love taking her to petsmart and walking her around (we call it 'puppy school' and she goes nuts)and sometimes ill just drive around for a while and let her hang her head out the window.and some times (gasp) ill let her come and sit underneath a table while i have a beer (OH THE HUMANITY, I HAVE NO REGUARDS FOR OTHER PEOPLE)this dog jumps through hoops for me.so giving her the basic bath and food doesnt seem adequate sometimes.[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 12:23 PM. Reason : well damn, i spelled euthanasia right. i effing rule.]

message_topic.aspx?topic=483751Oh, and Moonlight Pizza is a great place to take your dog. Whenever I take Peyton there they usually bring him a bowl of water when they bring me my drink.
