A master's degree in "homeland security"? What kind of fascist bullshit is the educational system encouraging in this country?
5/6/2008 8:23:40 PM
alsoMarijuana= Jail
5/6/2008 8:23:58 PM
well yeah, for 50 lbsim sure some of the 75 students will get off easier, whereas the higher ups will get the more severe punishments[Edited on May 6, 2008 at 8:24 PM. Reason : .]
5/6/2008 8:24:24 PM
75 out of the countless numbers that beat the system...sucks for them but thats how things go
5/6/2008 8:26:10 PM
^^ but even the ones who may have been a small time pot "provider" with only 2 oz will have felony charges and can guess any chance of getting a decent job goodbye. OMG high college students sitting around eat doritos watching anime what a menace to society![Edited on May 6, 2008 at 8:27 PM. Reason : l]

i dont get what you are fighting against i guess....i mean everyone knows the risk you take when you do things like this[Edited on May 6, 2008 at 8:29 PM. Reason : they got caught, sucks for them but thats how it goes]
5/6/2008 8:28:16 PM
the war on drugs is more harmful than every other drug harm combined (drug abuse, addiction, etc.)I meanusing the justice system to attempt to regulate morality and engineer society?stupidjust another human failing to add to the list (slavery, genocide, eugenics, apartheid, patriarchy, etc.)
5/6/2008 8:31:41 PM
i think some of the laws for prosecuting for marijuana are too strict, but the laws are the laws and i dont see them changing
5/6/2008 8:34:46 PM
well those 2 kids who OD'd in the frat house hadn't died, the sting wouldnt have gotten all that funding. therefore, if you are holding multiple keys in your frat house, make sure not to leave the bodies around.

"In the United States, there are now more than 318,000 people behind bars for violations of drug prohibition, more than the number of persons incarcerated for all crimes in the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Spain combined" - Jeff MironThat ain't right
5/6/2008 9:00:01 PM
^^exactly...its not like some kids got caught with a quarter ounce of weed[Edited on May 6, 2008 at 9:00 PM. Reason : .]
5/6/2008 9:00:20 PM
I did not really mean it like that. The point was instead of having a group of people who could have been productive members of society. We now have 75 convicts who will spend years in jail and MAYBE might come out to continue on with a life.
5/6/2008 9:01:56 PM
are they going to send all 75 to jail?WTF, 75 people can't effectively organize something like this. I'd say find the leaders as best as possible and try to minimize the effect on the majority of the organization. Know what I'm saying, there's got to be a ring leader or some kind of inner circle.I mean, daymnBut there are still things messed up about the law enforcement side of this I think. Imagine if cases like these were left to California and didn't have to have this federal intervention. Pot is really almost legal if California. 50 pounds might be another story, but I do hope that the kids just running pot in this deal don't get assraped for the next 20 years.[Edited on May 6, 2008 at 9:08 PM. 5/6/2008 9:08:14 PM
^^Don't be silly. They won't sentence any of these kids to "years in jail" unless they have prior records. Most likely all but a few will get misdemeanor possession charges or nothing.
5/6/2008 9:13:00 PM
this guy looks like a real geniushey i'm going to put explicit info about how much i sell drugs for in a mass emailfucking brilliantbtw wtf is up with those prices? 210 for a quarter?]
5/7/2008 12:14:21 PM
those prices are outrageous
5/7/2008 12:16:15 PM
^^if most dealers started doing thathow could the government stop it?(brute force -- denial of service "attack" -- civil disobedience)there are 100 to a 1000 times more drug dealers than jail cellsI'm not even sure there'd be enough handcuffs to go around(oh wait, they've got those plastic band ones now.... )
5/7/2008 12:21:52 PM

5/7/2008 12:22:23 PM

5/7/2008 12:24:18 PM

college kids
5/7/2008 2:44:02 PM
10/10. i think they'll all get off on probabtion. it's bad PR to sentence 75 kids to jail time for a little drug dealing on the spare time from studies.
5/7/2008 2:44:04 PM
any kind of sting operation is bad. until the suspects commit the crime in the real world, they're innocent.minority report, anyone?
5/7/2008 6:54:00 PM
You say the cops ruined their lives.Others say the kids ruined their own lives.I agree that "the war on drugs" is a shame, but I've also never had two kilos of cocaine or 50 pounds of marijuana in my dorm room.Something tells me these kids were probably some of the biggest bastards on that campus and the $100k worth of coke and marijuana is not the only crime they have committed in recent years.

^^ That "something" is anecdotal evidence. No other comments are necessary, but if you think these kids are the poster boys of the agenda then, by all means, please put them on the front lines of the war against the war on drugs.Like I said, the war on drugs is a shame. I believe the black market that has been created by the war on drugs is far worse than the drug use that would occur if it were legalized and therefore I support legalization. That doesn't mean I think drug dealers are "freedom fighters" or that they should somehow else be celebrated. If anything, I think drugs should be legalized so that some drug dealers can be eradicated. Maybe I have too much faith in humanity.[Edited on May 7, 2008 at 9:20 PM. Reason : l]
5/7/2008 9:17:26 PM
anecdotal as in what? what evidence?I agree that the war on drugs is a shame, and that the black market situation is worse than the legal oneI also don't think that these guys are the "poster boys" of anything (no one's saying that)but that doesn't mean that this drug/gun thing was somehow "not the only crime they have committed in recent years"do you have trouble believing that drugs and guns were the only crime they've committed?if so, why?(I'm suggesting that you're exhibiting some level of drug bigotry)when someone robs a store, that's no reason to assume they cheat on their spousewhen someone sets a house on fire, that's no reason to assume they've got a duiwhen someone sell lots of drugs and has guns for protection, what reason do you have to assume there are other crimes?(if you're just being prejudiced, admit it, and save me some time, cause I'm not gonna let this go)[Edited on May 7, 2008 at 9:50 PM. ^ yeah no shit.Ignorant American: "If they sell drugs they must be hardened criminals that go around shooting people and participating in other gang related activities" I imagine a lot of these kids are just spoiled rich boys sitting in front of the frat house with their croakies on, drinking busch light, that use part of daddy's trust fund money to purchase some drugs to supplement their stipend. Through a friend i knew this rich frat-tastic kid that was in one of those fraternities that lost their charter couple years back. Had a laid back friendly outgoing personality and the dude was actually smaller then me. Found out two years later that he used to deal certain "hard-drugs" mentioned above. I laughed at first but then realized it made sense. He had plenty of capital; and other rich friends that wanted drugs. From what i have heard also all coke dealers HAVE guns. There is a lot more risk when dealing this then pot; and often the customers you cater to are a lot more sketchier. Not to mention your product is worth a lot more. If you don't have one you are going to get jacked. [Edited on May 7, 2008 at 10:51 PM. Reason : l]

5/7/2008 11:40:36 PM
what "anecdotal evidence"?(spell it out, please)also, is there any actual evidence to support your hunch? (anecdotal evidence is not actual evidence)just admit that you're prejudiced about this, or give some real evidence that these guys did other stuffyou can post funny pictures and try to avoid answering me, but even without answering me, it's fairly clear that you may not actually know of any real evidence about other crimeswhich means your hunch is based on prejudice -- that you are, in fact, exhibiting drug bigotry(answer my question)
5/7/2008 11:51:20 PM
anybody with tens of thousands of dollars worth of coke and guns isnt some perfect saint that only sells some drugs here and there and otherwise is a model citizen...quit fooling yourself you must not know what this drug or the drug game will do to peoplewe dont know all the details, or which people were the kingpins and which people were just the runners but the main people who organized this dont deserve any of your defense for poisoning a bunch of their peoplethe weed might be a different story[Edited on May 8, 2008 at 12:15 AM.
