did anyone go to that big event thing last week? i was kinda interested, but ended up not being able to go anyway for work travel. actually overall i feel like it would have been weird. this american life is such a "alone time" experience for me, i think it would be weird to sit in a movie theater with a bunch of other people (plus kinda lame, sitting in a theater watching a live performance taking place somewhere else). so yeah - anyone catch on of the showings?also - have not watched the series yet, but plan to buy the season 1 dvd sometime soon

is it considered ironic that a program airing on national public radio has a television counterpart that airs on a premium cable subscription network?

maybe a little, but it definitely wouldn't work on network TV or regular cable. Showtime and HBO really have a thing going for the past few years where they are creating high quality, well produced, sometimes eccentric shows that would never make it if they had to rely on advertising dollars onlywell, of course..... I guess it could be on PBS, but i don't know if they'd have the budget or production quality that TAL needs

i emailed in and said i would go to the satellite event if they had it...but i forgot about it and never went.glad to see people like listening to/watching TAL...i cant get any of my friends to give it a try
