Doubt anyone here is interested, but I figured I'd post it up just in case.

7k miles, like new, the guy wants it gone for the arrival of his GT2, looks like he'll go as low as $55k, which is a fucking steal for a 425hp, 185mph beast like this

I think the last one I saw for sale was around $80k, although I'd do a lot more research before I made an offer.

Would be sweet to pick it up, have a nice drive from CT to NC, and then flip it for $15k profit in less than a month.

[Edited on May 6, 2008 at 12:04 AM. Reason : well, there is the lotus 23 replica by noble... nothing in common with this car though.]

yeah, the poor british have always had a hard time with their own stuff.

however, an interesting fact (to me anyway) is that the 1zz/2zz toyota motors are controlled with lotus computers/software.

they've also been involved in the design of some pretty substantial engines also, such as the lt5 for the c4 zr-1 and the turbo III chrysler engines that powered the spirit r/t and daytona r/t. they've been behind some nice suspensions for other manufacturers as well. don't forget the delorean either.

pretty much. such has been the way with any british company that's enjoyed any long term success though.

And let's not forget the Opel Lotus Omega from the early 90's, which was an Opel Omega (remember the Cadillac Catera? same thing...) with a Lotus engine, and was listed as the world's fastest sedan in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The M5 from that era was just a pussycat compared to the 382 hp, 419 lb-ft (still more than today's M5), 177 mph Opel. It had a TT 3.6 litre I6, and that output of 106 hp/litre is still amazing by today's standards.

I had a serious crush on that car when I was in my early teens.

Very nice pic:
