i think honeywell makes good residential ones.johnson controls/york, siemens, trane, and rockwell all make them for commerical / industrial use and id imagine they make residential ones too.Obviously there are other brands but these are all top notch manufacturers of controls products.

any from lowe's are going to be finefor $60ish you can get one with a nice remotes and enough programming ability to do anything you'd want to do

i've got onenever used the programming thoughand it cant keep time for shit it loses ~0.3 minutes/day

This is the one I have. I just liked the aesthetics of it more than the Honeywell stuff.

Do these allow you to schedule the circulating fan separate from the AC/Heat handling? We like to run the fan constant in the evening to help even the upstairs/downstairs.

I'm assuming you are going on time-of-day rates? Otherwise, this wouldn't make much of a difference.

^yes it would, when you're at work you don't need as much AC - granted it costs money to bring your house back to the temperature you'd like it at upon your return, but it costs less than keeping your house at that temperature all day
