Which would you all get if given a choice? Starting to car show and these are my top 3; also looking at IS250.Probably in the 06 or 07 model yearsA4- would likely get the 3.2T a buddy of mine said the 2.0T was not impressive at all and lacked torque3-Series - 330Ci 06' or 328i 07' (the 07 335i's seem quite a bit more expensive)
4/29/2008 3:47:35 PM
328i 07 hands down.
4/29/2008 3:51:17 PM
If you are concerned about after-purchase costs and reliability, go with the Lexus. For performance, BMW.Looks, A4 (BUT only the 08 ones... actually, 07 is also very good looking).TSX for HONDA PWR!
4/29/2008 3:53:58 PM
yeah i was also looking at a TSX bc of my good experiences with Honda thus far and the lower costs then the others.
4/29/2008 4:04:35 PM
you were misinformed about the 2.0T, if you get it w/ either the DSG or 6 speed manual you cannot keep the tires under it in 1st gear (if not a quattro). Its one of ward's 10 best engines as well. My sister has in the the jetta GLI and its a blast to drive.I've driven a TSX, IS250 (which is pig dog slow), and a 328 and it is definately quicker than all of them.
4/29/2008 4:15:21 PM
new acuras look awesome but i still despise fwd (i'm not saying you should). And i second that you wore told wrong with the 2.0t that lil sucker can haul. I would go bimmer or A4 if you're planning on any mods the 2.0t will get larger gains from after market chips and exhausts etc compared to the rest.
4/29/2008 4:21:12 PM
yeah thats good to know perhaps my buddy didn't drive 6 speed. Right now the A4 is my top choice b.c i think the TSX is just to underpowered compared to the others and a BMW definitely costs a premium for similar cost/benefit.
4/29/2008 4:31:19 PM
G35
4/29/2008 6:04:23 PM
the is 2/350 is sexy
4/29/2008 6:09:44 PM
^ G35 is a good choice but it's bigger than the others, so not a completely direct comparison.torque as recorded by the butt dyno depends on what you're used to. The 1.8 and 2.0T seem very torquey to me for what they are, small displacement motors.
4/29/2008 6:11:06 PM
I my friend's 1.8t just put down more torque to the wheels (stock turbo 20-some lbs of boost) then my 4.0 liter jeep is rated at the crank.....
4/29/2008 6:31:32 PM
I wish my 2.7T was running like it should
4/29/2008 6:35:50 PM
my dad just traded in his 2.7t A6, it was a pretty good car. he got rid of it before it started having problems however
4/29/2008 7:11:04 PM
a4, more head room for mods3 series, just a nice car overall
4/29/2008 9:00:46 PM
'06 330i. 20 more hp than '07 328, still warranty left and cheaper. you still get the same block, suspension, chassis and everything else. downside- no coupe.you should also not forget that BMW warranty covers everything, including brake pads and winshield wipers. there are also no fine print on that. everything is really covered and they dont bullshit like others when it comes to claims. audi has horrible depreciation and will plummet in value. either honda or BMW is my choice. honda is an appliance and lexus is a fancy appliance. all in all...BMW or nothing [Edited on April 29, 2008 at 9:16 PM. Reason : im so not biased]
4/29/2008 9:14:29 PM
The 2008 A4 is supposed to be bigger than the old one, so the back seat issues should be less significant. If you're also looking at coupes I'm guessing back seat size isn't a big deal to you. Also, the IS250 is about the same size as the G35 but with a lot less power. If you're going to get an IS you need to go with the IS350 in order to have the same power as the other vehicles listed.Given what you're looking at I'd get the '06 330ci or the '07 328i[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 9:18 PM. Reason : asdfsad]
4/29/2008 9:17:16 PM
^you're aware that the '07 A4 is the same model as the '08? I don't know why ppl keep saying their different.Nate, go with the BMW. 4 yrs free warranty. I'm curious though, why you're not even considering the Mercedes C Class.Don't go with the TSX. Too boring, you only live once.[Edited on April 29, 2008 at 10:03 PM. Reason : personally I'd go with a one year old 335i coupe]
4/29/2008 10:02:39 PM
4/29/2008 10:08:17 PM
Hmm, I guess it's the '09 then, it is supposed to get considerably larger in the next update.
4/29/2008 10:10:54 PM
^yes, its the '09 on a new platform. the '08s have been out for a while and the new model isn't out yet.^^well sure, but comparatively a RWD german sedan is worlds more exciting than a "adequately" powered FWD guissed up European Accord.
4/29/2008 10:17:18 PM
RWD or 4WD is always better than FWD.
4/29/2008 10:19:50 PM
i love my A4 cabrio

4/30/2008 7:15:44 AM
Yeah i really thing the g35 might be the most fun thing posted in here.
4/30/2008 8:13:26 AM
My mom has an 07 G35, and that is probably one of the most fun cars I have driven.
4/30/2008 8:37:17 AM
^My little brother has a 07 G35s. I'm a big fan.
4/30/2008 9:27:59 AM
I say G35, relaible just like Acura and Lexus. Faster than both.
4/30/2008 10:09:48 AM
The G35 is one of the most fun cars you've driven because you've driven FWD VW's and Nissans. The throttle surge alone on 07's made that car obnoxiously annoying.
4/30/2008 11:14:39 AM
4/30/2008 11:34:56 AM
^^Actually, I have driven almost every car on the road, or some generation of it.I haven't driven any exotics, but everything else is fair game.
4/30/2008 12:48:33 PM
G35 compares to IS250 in price! IS350 is price high for what you get
4/30/2008 1:27:40 PM
4/30/2008 1:31:31 PM
btw on the audi's how does the awd effect performance. I was kinda surprised looking at numbers online to see the fwd actually slightly surpassed the awd version of both the 2.0t and 3.2t in both lateral g' and 0-60
4/30/2008 1:47:15 PM
Due to its power level thats no surprise. The AWD version is heavier.
4/30/2008 1:52:23 PM
Awd is heavier and has more drive train loss.... give it more power though and it'll go better.....
4/30/2008 2:50:55 PM
TSX
4/30/2008 3:13:19 PM
I <3 my 2007 G35s.
4/30/2008 11:19:08 PM
I drove a 6 speed 2007 G35s coupe about 8 months ago. It pulled pretty good in 1st and 2nd but it felt like a dog on the highway, comparatively speaking
5/1/2008 3:18:27 AM
Interestingly enough the coupe's engine produces less HP and torque than the sedan's. I'm assuming that's to keep the g35 coupe from hurting the g37's sales.

^^^There is no 2008 G35 coupe, only G37 coupe. And it has 330hp (or maybe 337 don't recall exactly).
