I am on the fence with this one -- although, I'm leaning towards protecting the childrenbut only because I think one should have to be an adult to consent to religioniow, an adult's religious freedom is absolute (within the libertarian principle, of course)but a parent can't really speak for a child's religious freedom, because the child may, once an adult, believe differentlyif this were some adult refusing treatment for their spouse, and the spouse could be shown to agree (if unconscious,)then it's a right to die issue, and they should have the right to die (even if simple treatment would save them)but do children have a right to die as decided by their parents' or guardians' religious beliefs?I would think not

What if this couple was driving along one night and came upon a bad car accident..with people laying all over the road crying out for help.Would they have said a little prayer...chalk it all up to God's will and drive on?

this topic comes up in the news time and againyes, there are religious wackosI'm sure someone can tell us what the verdict, if any, has been in the past... I don't know which way the courts have leaned (I think it was usually with the religion)

^^^ Being a Scientologist, when you drive past an accident, it's not like anyone else, it's, you drive past, you know you have to do something about it. You know you are the only one who can really help.Something similar happened with James Hetfield's mother. He was born into a strict Christian Scientce family who refused to give his mother any medicine as she died of cancer.

There's a big flood, a man goes to his roof for safety, he believes god will save him. A man in a boat comes by and the man refuses to get in, saying god will save him. Then a helicopter comes by, again he refuses to get in saying god will save him. The man dies & goes to heaven, he's mad at god...why didn't you save me? God says, I sent you a boat and a helicopter...what more did you want?
