As the hike was winding down on Friday, I came across someone completely passed out on the sidewalk with an open phone in his hand, in front of blue flame. As people were stepping around him I decided to see if he was alright. He was completely non-responsive after trying to get him to say something or move for like a few minutes. After I opened up his eyes and they literally rolled to opposite sides of his head and then back up into his head, I decided to call 911 and the ambulance along with 6 cops (must have been a busy night) and a firetruck showed up pretty quick. And then about 3 minutes after they all arrived on the scene he's starts responding and gets up and shouts, "I'm fine!" Stumbles into a taxi and goes home. I was left wondering if I had over reacted. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry but at the same time it just seems like getting an ambulance and cops and shit seems like an over reaction when he's apparently good enough to get into a taxi.

Better safe than sorry.

you should have poured a beer on his face first to see if it'd wake him up

no, you made a good decision. you had every reason to believe he had alcohol poisoning.

couple weeks ago we heard a truck horn going off for like 2 minutes at about 3am. So we went outside to investigate. Turns out a guy had passed out in his truck on the side of the road next to University Glen and he had his knee pressing the horn. We tried to get him to wake up, and he finally got his knee of the horn and passed back out. He was gone by 7am so i guess he just had gotten too fucked up and decided to pass out in the car. We just thought it was funny that he had been continuously honking the horn while passed out.

Good call.(Ever wonder why you post in some threads? Is it just for giggles?)

yeah, the guy looked at me like "wtf asshole". Also I don't understand why you wouldn't check to see if he was alright? Is it just a "not my problem" attitude or a "he's just passed out, what a dumbass" one?
4/28/2008 1:34:03 AM
a little of both and a lot of not caring
4/28/2008 1:34:55 AM
yeah i think people assume everyone else will help so they don't do anything. In my case we asked the guy if he was alright, and we got a yes so we let him be.

I'm surprised no one's called this guy out on the blatant attention whoring.
