the light for the usb stick is on, its also shows up under safely remove hardware. it also shows up under device manager->Disk drives.but when i open my computer there is no removable disk icon. the other day i messed with the network settings so i can access the network at work. if that could help with anything.

i've never had a usb drive out of the box like this, but make sure it's initialized and formatted fat32

well my laptop is an IBM from about 2003 or so. would my laptop by compatable with the USB 2.0?i'll look into formatting it.

i went to http://www.transcendusa.com to download the driver, it will not let me install because it says "insert USB key".and well, it is inserted.

ok. so i think i fixed it. it was default F drive, not sure why because the server drive is now F (the server i added the other day). im surprised it didnt pick a different one

i had this issue with a computer I was working on. i too was surprised Windows couldn't pick a new letter for the drive. its a royal pain in the ass and took me about 2 hours to figure out.
