HA who wouldn't buy them today for those prices when you could flip them on eBay for double
4/26/2008 5:23:47 PM
If you think I would pay anywhere near retail for a dead format all I can say is thats absurd.
4/26/2008 5:26:08 PM
Dead format? No, it's a rare format, which means it will bring MORE than retail soon.
4/26/2008 6:13:31 PM
Rare, you say, when they are still making them (limited movies and quantities however) until about May and there is plenty of inventory of them owned by retailers, and all are selling them for about %50 off of the original MSRP?[Edited on April 26, 2008 at 6:18 PM. Reason : limited]
4/26/2008 6:18:15 PM
That makes it not dead, either.

Back on topic:Bourne Ultimatum - $7Put it this way, I am willing to give $20 for three (at least decent) movies. That is fair, especially when best Buy is offering to buy HD DVDs back for about $1.70 a movie. Go here and and pick your player see the buyback value, then add movies and see how much they offer by subtracting the value of the player from this total - http://www.bestbuytradein.com/bb/QuoteCalculatorHDDVD.cfm?
4/26/2008 9:14:38 PM
yeah because those betamax tapes are worth $texas now
4/26/2008 10:13:45 PM
Just because BB is offering that doesn't mean anyone is doing that. Look on half.com and eBay - they still hold value.

Thats a horrible analogy - thats like saying the HD DVD players will be worth 1000s later on, not the media... show me some media that sells like that for old stuff, besides extremely rare pieces, or something like the Beetles on vinyl or something. Haters are all up in the thread. I should have named this thread Haters Unite.
