Can be extremely testing on my patience. For example, yesterday I'm on the phone with a client and she beeps me through the speakerphone. When I don't immediately answer she starts yelling my name repeadedly, over and over. Think of a two year old saying "Mommymommymommymomy". Once I put them on hold she stopped, only to think of another question to ask me the minute I start talking to them again and proceeds to do her "mommymommymommy" deal ALL over again.Today she starts yelling at me "Why did you double book these people?!" I tell her that I only did it because she expressly TOLD me to yesterday afternoon. So she then tells me that it was a stupid thing to do and it's my fault I listened to her.I'm sure I don't have it the worst though....

I have an advisor that does that shit in grad school.she'll tell you specifically to do something. then when you do it, she'll ask why you did it?.......denying ever making mention of it before]

Go take a crap in her office.

I have worked with these types before. I found it helpful to adopt a very serious stance with them. If you are very blunt and call them out on their childish behavior (without sounding like a jackass), they will usually stop.

You're gonna have to figure out a way to document things that she asks you to do.Find out if you can start using email for often to ask questions and get answers. It'll leave a paper trail for you to help defend your actions.

Oh I told my boss (who isn't based in this office) that we weren't communicating enough for me to get my job done (ie, him not responding to me).He then proceeds to tell me that I'm being incredibly unfair to him and starts whining about how everybody is always so mean.Didn't do any work for 4 days because he was "tired"

Haha she owns the place, so I guess she's allowed to act however she wants. And I've tried sticking up for myself in a professional way and it only causes her to get insanely angry, so now I just say "Yes! You're so right!" and do whatever it is I was doing before she told me differently. I've never been called out on it. I've learned the ropes, it's just that sometimes I get tired of climbing halfway up.

Oh and he also can't do anything with word documents or excel spreadsheets because he bought a Mac and didn't understand that his microsoft version of word wouldn't upload onto his mac. And he doesn't want to buy the software that he needs because it's rather expensive (granted i told him this repeatedly, and he didn't listen to me)So now if I need something approved, I have to read it to him over the phone.Although, thats partially because he doesn't like to read his own email.
