Worlds unluckiest kite boarder:
4/21/2008 10:30:49 AM
uhhhhhh
4/21/2008 10:33:13 AM
That is the coolest thing I've seen in a while. How'd he manage to hold on/why didn't he let go?
4/21/2008 10:34:47 AM
Please tell me you are kidding.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:36 AM. Reason : you guys realize this is a commercial right?]
4/21/2008 10:35:47 AM
you're harnessed to your kiteit ain't just you're armstrength
4/21/2008 10:35:52 AM
OMG! I was really sitting here like
4/21/2008 10:36:22 AM
i'm thinking this is fake. too much torque for him to hold on. his arms would have been literally pulled apart from his body.^^ oh i see now. damn he might be dead then.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:37 AM. Reason : sdfg]
4/21/2008 10:36:31 AM
^ yea even his little safety strap would snap.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:37 AM. Reason : .]
4/21/2008 10:36:51 AM
WOW ! 10/10.
4/21/2008 10:37:55 AM
4/21/2008 10:38:16 AM
tell me what it is then.
4/21/2008 10:38:55 AM
So I guess you're not a golfer
4/21/2008 10:39:02 AM
nope. the torque from the engines is too much for a human arm to hold on the plane. or if i am not right , please put me in the know.
4/21/2008 10:40:43 AM
^^ hahaha, how appropriate in a thread I created. ^ torque is a rotational force, not a lateral one. Shit I was an econ / business major and I know that.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:41 AM. Reason : ^]
4/21/2008 10:41:11 AM
i think it's real, but he had to have died. find out if he survived.
4/21/2008 10:41:16 AM
Torque is a rotational force. If this video were not fake, the kite surfer's initial injuries would be due to his mass accelerating at a high rate due to the momentum of the plane.
4/21/2008 10:44:17 AM
"In physics, a torque (t) is a vector that measures the tendency of a force to rotate an object about some axis (center)."
4/21/2008 10:44:19 AM
^^ so nothing rotates on that plane as a result of the engine supplying horsepower to it?
4/21/2008 10:44:37 AM
4/21/2008 10:45:56 AM
yes things rotate to make the plane move IN A GENERALLY STRAIGHT LINE. While travelling in this straight line, the plane would injure the fictitious kiteboarder.
4/21/2008 10:46:10 AM
i think seedless is thinking of a car's torque, in which case he would be rightbut this is a plane, they have thrust
4/21/2008 10:46:51 AM
no, a car's torque is also rotational.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:47 AM. Reason : vxf]
4/21/2008 10:47:31 AM
i am not saying i am not wrong. i am saying just tell how there is absolutely no torque involved in the movement of that airplane and i will believe it.^^ oh ok. thanks for not being an asshole and telling me something that i did not realize.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:48 AM. Reason : sdfg]
4/21/2008 10:47:34 AM
I just said there was. I'm not trying to be an asshole, perhaps my initial response was a smartassed one, my apologies. You should know, however that the plane, in this scenario, would not apply torque to the body of the kiteboarder and that the video is fake. Thank you.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:51 AM. Reason : v]
4/21/2008 10:48:12 AM
i just meant that on a car, the torque is measured to show how much force the wheels put on the pavement to make it move
4/21/2008 10:49:09 AM
0/10
4/21/2008 10:49:49 AM
isn't it propellers on that plane or is it a jet?
4/21/2008 10:50:19 AM
4/21/2008 10:50:20 AM
4/21/2008 10:50:42 AM
what we are dealing with here are shearing forces that would have broken all his rigging/tore his chute and dropped him in the water...no way he could have been snapped up and gone from ~5mph to ~200 mph immediately. something has to give.
4/21/2008 10:50:59 AM
so there is torque there afterall?^^ you are nothing but a bitch everywhere you post.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:54 AM. Reason : asdf]
4/21/2008 10:51:27 AM
now the real question isif the kite boarder was on a treadmill....
4/21/2008 10:51:28 AM
^^
4/21/2008 10:52:55 AM
holy crap
4/21/2008 10:53:15 AM
fake
4/21/2008 10:53:23 AM
It's a SPrite Zero commercial[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:55 AM. Reason : xc]
4/21/2008 10:54:02 AM
How would they not hear/see that plane coming?
4/21/2008 11:03:50 AM
^^ well done.
4/21/2008 11:04:52 AM
reminds me of this
4/21/2008 11:07:57 AM
is this another one of those "seedless tries to find ways to make his original statement correct even though we all know what he clearly intended to say threads?"[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 11:15 AM. Reason : .]
4/21/2008 11:14:11 AM
