To my knowledge, the next SB Summit will be the third...if I have mis-calculated, please inform me.

At least a year has passed since the last gathering of this kind, and by God, I think we owe it to ourselves to do better than that. I realize that it's a potentially awkward time, what with dead week and exams and what-all else, but I want to make the effort now while people are at least still in town.

I, myself, am not picky about the day or time. I am effectively unemployed. I would prefer not to have any sort of meeting Saturday April 26 because my particular religious denomination has Easter as starting at 12:01 AM on the 27th, and I'd rather not show up to church drunk.

For those of you wondering, Soap Box Summits in the past have involved:

1) Alcohol
2) Discussions of politics and philosophy influenced by alcohol
3) Discussions of any and all other topics influenced by alcohol

Dates and venues are, of course, pending.

The last one was good, mostly because I think we were all mostly on the same page No, but really, face-to-face talk is always good because it assures you that the people who aren't legit in their opinions online (ie: wouldn't say what they say online to your face) stay at least a little honest.

Eat and drink. They don't call me "That tall, obnoxious drunk" for nothing.

I'm inclined to recommend my bar, Katmandu, because it's normally fairly empty and quiet (although occasionally some wanker will play death metal entirely too loudly) and you can bring in whatever food you want, and I'm probably going to end up there that night anyway.

If not that, um...well, I'm not sure what your definition of "shitty food" is. Los Cazadores might work, it's better than El Rodeo and has a bar (again, a big selling point). Fuck it, I'm out of suggestions, and I don't really care anyway.

As of tonight it seems likely that most nights I will be working until 11:30 or so at yet another bar, so I may be required to basically drop out of matters altogether. That said, depending on how long negotiations over time/date/venue last, it is still a real possibility that I will be available on the Friday in question.

While Friday isn't the best day for me, it is acceptable, and so I'm voting for it.

Katmandu was my recommendation, so obviously I'll back it. I'll make sure they don't have anything special going on that night.

As for time...I won't know my work schedule until tomorrow. If I am indeed working, I personally won't be able to show up until probably 11:30 or midnight. If I'm not working, I don't care in the least.
