the premise is that when you click a thread, a pop-up will tell you if media is in the thread and gives you a chance to block or view it without being exposed to nsfw pics, or stupid autoplay vids and music. fuck'n skanks.

some forums have 'alt text' for when you hover over the thread title, it pops up a caption that has the first few sentences of the post

but for real - try a proxy server like http://www.proxify.com - they give you a bunch of options as far as blocking - and if that isn't what you are looking for there is a FF plugin that lets you have a slideshow thingy like itunes for you tabs...a small preview pic for each tab.

someone make a plugin that searches the tww galleries and displays only nude pictures. They got face finding technology, so boob-finding shouldn't be too hard.

Unless you have a super-sophisticated way of automatically determining whether an image is nsfw, wouldn't you have to view it before deciding to block it anyway? In which case you could use adblock?

If you just want to avoid media in general, just use adblock, noscript, and any plugin that will block external images and images from the photo gallery.

but if you're wanting to block images just in case they're nsfw, what's the practical difference between what you're wanting, and just blocking all images outright? you don't need a confirmation box to pop up and tell you there are images to block before you block them.

If that's all you want, I would recommend just writing a plugin to give you that option in a little checkbox or button on your browser toolbar. You don't even need to check a thread for media in advance. Just whenever you're on a browsing session where you don't want to be disturbed by media, just click the box; whenever the boss leaves the room or you have the sound turned off, unclick the box.

That could be as easy as making a little wrapper plugin that would give you a box which would toggle adblock, noscript and image display on and off, all three at once.

it might have to be a greasemonkey script. but it might work similar to adblock. dunno yet even i can do it, but i will try.
