anybody got any experience with aftermarket exaust that is less restrictive than factory but still pretty quiet. looking to replace the muffler or get a cat back for a tacoma with a four cylinder just to get a little better exaust flow.[Edited on April 16, 2008 at 9:08 PM. Reason : spell]

keeping the factory exhaust diameter will help with the "quiet", but any aftermarket mufflah is gonna be not really quiet60 series flowmaster - has a bigger case for sound dissipation (5"x10", iirc)most any "turbo" muffler from advance will be less loud compared to a straight thru mufflah.just make it loud, you know you want to - with the dual pipes and 4" slash cut tips like every other redneck in the world j/k

I was thinking turbo. Not sure how the 4 cyl fairs though.

for a cat back i would rock a 'turbo' muffler and leave it at that. if u want more noise put on a smaller resonator.[Edited on April 16, 2008 at 11:06 PM. Reason : .]

Apexi World Sport Exhaust is ridiculously quiet and better than stock as far as performance goes.Dont know if they make something for your car specifically but you can get the universal muffler and then have your exhaust shop weld on whatever else you want as far as the b-pipe/resonaters go.

^^Word. No worries about getting a flowmaster. I did that once and will never do it again. What about a borla on a 4 cyl. Anybody tried it?
