I mailed in my state payment about a week ago, and when I check my online banking it still doesn't show that check being cashed/desposited by Uncle Sam...is it possible they just have so many returns to go through that they haven't gotten to mine? My envelope is postmarked before 4/15 so I should be ok but I'd think they would've cashed/deposited my check by now? Any idea what would happen if your check got lost in the mail but was postmarked on time?

doesn't it take at least 3 weeks to see your refund? Probably longer since you filed so close to the deadline.

thats what i'm guessing...my federal was accepted within a day or two but I filed that online

i know i'm not gonna get a refund, i owed money, but they havent taken my money yet

lol, I just checked my bank account and I got my state tax return on 4/2 and federal return on 4/4.

last year i did my taxes in like february but i put it off this year since i knew i'd owe

btw heres a tip for everyone...when somebody is asking for a $20 or $50 donation to some charity or whatever and they say its tax deductible...well you've probably got to donate thousands and thousands of dollars to charity before you've donated enough to get a deduction...so don't think they $20 you give to the fraternal order of police or whatever is gonna be $20 back to you cause its not

well, just checked my filing date, and it was 3/20, so I got the refund approximately 2 weeks later. E-filing FTW!

you can do your NC state taxes online via bank draft for free - should have just done that

even with tens of thousands of people filing their taxes in the last week or so, they're quick to take your money!
