Henry David Thoreau once said "Men profess to be lovers of music, but for the most part they give no evidence in their opinions and lives that they have heard it."Good Music is a rare find, and I can assure you that none of it can be found on your precious top 40 stationsPerhaps you should keep your opinions to yourself until you learn what real music is..Because the kind you listen to is pyrite...which fits you well, since you're a fool

goodlife is right, no aliasand kurtis, i really hope youre not thinking youre a genius for that post...i think everyone is aware there are other ways to listen to music than the radio. i was just making statement. the fact that you guys wasted your time to try and get me all bent out of shape kinda makes me sad for you. you dont want to hear about who hates the radio, then go to another thread

I too dislike mainstream radio so guess what, I don't listen to it. No one was trying to get you bent out of shape. Get over yourself, no one cares enough about you or your opinions to put in the effort to get you riled up. Besides, from your first 10 posts it's obvious you are already pissed off about tons of stuff, 99.9% of which is not worth getting worked up about, like what is being played on the airwaves.

most main stream radio sucks98% of rap/hiphop sucks98% of country sucks95% of rock/pop sucks88.1 plays off key crap 90% of the timeironically the only reason folks like older stuff is only the really really good older stuff still gets played at all...
4/16/2008 10:36:01 AM
^it's not off-key. it's often just shitty.
4/16/2008 10:39:32 AM
this thread is hilarious. The fact that she took our bored indifference from seeing this statement for the billionth time to mean that we all loved mainstream radio. Then proceeded to get pissed off and self righteous for some reason.

With podcasts, internet radio, satellite radio, and the ability to care thousands of songs around on a MP3 player does anyone really care about mainstream radio in general? I can't even remember the last time I turned one on.
4/16/2008 11:01:05 AM
same for the most part. I installed an alpine receiver with a screen that mimics my ipod in my car a few months back. I almost thought about not hooking up my antenna to it when i was installing it. but when im on the road a lot, occasionally i like to flip around to catch sports scores. and besides my car i dont have any other devices with a stereo tuner.[Edited on April 16, 2008 at 11:05 AM. i love jazz and classical but i get in the mood for specific kinds, thus the stuff i want to listen to i also keep on my ipod.and yea i dont enjoy satellite radio anymore than regular radio. ie i dont listen to either really. all ipod for me.[Edited on April 16, 2008 at 12:13 PM. Reason : ]

and i'm down with thatbut people just blindly damning terrestrial radio because of things like clear channel homogenization is nuts
4/16/2008 12:13:52 PM
back when i did listen to the radio though, i rocked 88.9 all the time in raleigh
4/16/2008 12:16:46 PM
The only time I have listened to radio since 2000 is when I'm changing one of MP3 Cds out or taking my MP3 player aux cable out and my system defaults to FM.
4/16/2008 12:17:40 PM
i listen to satellite radio for new music without having to really search for it on myspace or whateveri can sit at work and listen to stations all day, then find a song that i like and see what the name of it is, then bam i can make note of that to check out more songs from them later
4/16/2008 12:24:19 PM
I just can't stand the fact that it seems like 50% of the time i turn the radio on it is on commercials.
4/16/2008 12:41:29 PM
all of the stations i listed are non-commercial radionow on the other handmuch like pbs, the fucking begathons for wsha and wcpe never seem to end

i'll be the first to admit that i love "Since U Been Gone", but this article is pretty spot-onhttp://www.bestweekever.tv/2007/12/18/the-annual-since-u-been-gone-music-blog-phenomenon/
4/16/2008 1:14:45 PM
Well, yeah.It goes both ways, though. When Ted Leo did his "Since U Been Gone"/"Maps" cover, he used the bridge as a jumping off point from one song to the other because that's where the real lift is, but he missed the point; "Since U Been Gone" exists solely for that bridge.Anyway, every song on that list is a lot fucking better than "Owner of a Lonely Heart." There's a difference between acknowledging a decent modern pop single and throwing in a mildly catchy piece of kitsch for irony purposes. With all that said, I'm loading up on late '90s britpop.
