Hey all, I've got a 1998 Jeep Wrangler that has a pretty major coolant leak from behind the water pump and needs to be changed. I'm guessing it's either the pump going bad (weep hole) or the seal behind it, but in any case, it needs to come off. Now, while I could probably (and would prefer to) do it myself, I don't have the time and the apartment people here in North Raleigh kinda frown upon that. I really hate having someone else work on my car, but I guess it's time to suck it up and take it to a mechanic.

Are any of you guys affiliated with a shop, or can reccommend a reputable place to go? I'm trying to not get screwed or end up in a shop where they think I'm a gullible idiot and try to sell me shit I don't want. Since I haven't ever taken it to a shop though, I don't know of any good ones.

IMHO and limited experience I'd say Gower's, but be prepared to wait a while unless it's an off day. No bullshit and no overselling of stuff you don't need, with ok prices.

actually i'm assuming you have a 4.0 which is more difficult than the 4 popper (THEY HAVE SPACE!) if you have the 4 banger than shame on you for not having it done already.
