http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3344825unfortunately they foiled himand those assholes are actually thinking of suing him. what a bunch of fucking pricks
4/13/2008 8:13:29 PM
Another attempt by Red Sox's nation and ESPN to screw the yanks over
4/13/2008 8:14:50 PM
i'm not sure how i'd feel about the yankees filing charges against this guy. that seems a little ridiculous.
4/13/2008 8:17:00 PM
I love how the one person refers to it as a "very very bad act" Flying 2 planes into the WTC is a very very bad act. You would think a New Yorker would know the difference.
4/13/2008 8:20:47 PM
i'm actually not at all surprised that they didn't know the difference in your personal definitions of 'very very bad act'.
4/13/2008 8:23:04 PM
yeah, I'm not sure why they would file charges for what was essentially a harmless prank. You know how baseball people are with their superstitions though.
4/13/2008 8:38:10 PM
why the hell did they even bother digging it up in the first place?
4/13/2008 8:46:36 PM
^c'mon now... you know they werent gonna leave it there
4/13/2008 8:50:11 PM

4/13/2008 9:38:45 PM
ask Hank
4/13/2008 11:08:19 PM
i'm gonna go all wilbon here and say i dont believe the story
4/13/2008 11:10:56 PM
good to see hank's as big a douche as georgie-porgie was (irt the comments he made about hoping the guy's coworkers beat the shit out of him)[Edited on April 13, 2008 at 11:12 PM. Reason : .]

4/14/2008 11:40:43 AM
Now, they did dig it up which took hours... who should have to pay for that? The burial of the jersey could be viewed as an act of vandalism.I don't know why the Sox guy let the cat out of the bag. Wait for the thing to be finished first so they can't dig the thing up... then the story lives forever.
4/14/2008 11:44:49 AM
They hired the guy to build the damned stadium, and he did it. He built it his way with a jersey in it. Bob Vila would have done it differently, but if they want to go all hissy now and try to make the red sox guy pay it'd be bullshit.
4/14/2008 11:50:41 AM
^^ Vandalism? Haha that's a good one. The jersey in no way affected anything in the stadium. No one would have ever known it was there if this guy hadn't talked about it. The Yankees can pay to remove it themselves because they're too superstitious to leave it there.
4/14/2008 11:53:59 AM
Who cares? Like the Red Sox wouldn't have done the same thing? Of course they would. Big deal. They ended up donating the shirt to the Jimmy Fund for auction to raise money for cancer research.
4/14/2008 12:52:25 PM
Maybe someone should check and see if a UNC jersey is buried in the walls of the RBC
4/14/2008 12:52:48 PM
Remember when they found the VT logo carved into the new Virginia court? I wonder if anyone was sued then?
4/14/2008 12:59:51 PM
^^ hahahahahah
4/14/2008 1:04:59 PM
4/14/2008 1:31:56 PM
He should be sued. He was hired to do a job, but instead he defaced property. He should also be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.If some yankees fan sharpie tagged the bathroom wall in Fenway, you assholes would be calling for him to be caned. I don't know when it became so cool to be a big Red Sox fan. Oh wait, right around when they finally fucking won a world series.
4/14/2008 1:40:23 PM
I applaud the effort. Been funnier if it turned out to be an Orioles or Royals fan though IMO.
4/14/2008 1:40:51 PM
whatever, the jinx backfired. it was an ortiz jersey and he is in a huge slump.
4/14/2008 1:49:28 PM
^^^^ Except that removing the shirt was totally unnecessary.^^^ He didn't vandalize anything though, mr. alias.
4/14/2008 4:47:02 PM
hey rufus
4/14/2008 4:52:20 PM
but did it destroy, injure, or disfigure in any way? I say no. No one would have ever seen it and it did not affect the structural integrity.
4/14/2008 4:59:13 PM
It disfigures it. The yankees wouldnt want bosox memorabilia to be there. You people are being idiots. What the guy did was clearly wrong, and he needs to be responsible for his actions. If you ask me they should just release his name to the newspapers, let justice work itself out that way.
4/14/2008 5:08:17 PM
i still dont think you can truly disfigure something if it doesnt affect anything in any way and no one can see it. i guess its splitting hairs. say someone drew something on a wall in my house they were building before they primed and painted it. even if it was something obscene, if it didnt affect anything and you cant see it I wouldnt care even if I was told later. Sure it was wrong but I really dont think he should be punished.and what do you mean release his name? it has been. he was even on espn last night if i recall. or was he using a fake name or something?[Edited on April 14, 2008 at 5:14 PM. If he gets charged with anything it would be criminal mischief. BTW, how hard would it be to find an impartial (to either team) judge? Even if it was a woman, her family has to have a side to be on.
4/14/2008 5:36:29 PM
Because there are no female baseball fans.
4/14/2008 6:17:58 PM
BASEBALLSERIOUS FUCKING BUSINESS
4/14/2008 6:20:34 PM
There are plenty of woman fans, just figured someone would say it'd have to be a woman. This is TWW ST, where logic rarely exists.
4/14/2008 6:21:52 PM
So I guess you guys wouldn't have a problem with UNC memorabilia buried somewhere in Reynolds/RBC. Especially where you had the opportunity to remove it.
4/14/2008 7:59:52 PM
not really. i guess in baseball i can see it for stupid 'curse' reasons or whatever. but in all honesty its a pretty pansy thing to do. who cares. if you want to piss us off, paint something carolina blue. not hide something where no one sees it.[Edited on April 14, 2008 at 8:09 PM. Reason : ]

4/14/2008 10:45:50 PM
Did I hear this guys hourly wage right on the news? 88 dollars an hour? Wow!
4/15/2008 8:03:43 AM
NYC union labor rates are insane. My company charges $900/day for the use of one of our mechanics/service guys.
4/15/2008 1:38:14 PM
so what would that be comparable to down here? i know NY costs an arm and a leg to live there
4/15/2008 6:31:05 PM
I doubt these dudes are living in Manhattan.
