Thats what I wanna do to this 8 hr PITA.I missed a few of the wed. night sessions, and going back over the problems in e490. How hard was the general section for mechanical engineers? I know the pass percentage was the same between general and mech. discipline, just wondering if its like the AM section just with more problems.

afternoon was harder for me. ( took general not ME even though i was an ME). I felt good about the morning (felt like i got 70-80%) and i felt TERRIBLE about the afternoon. I thought i was lucky if i got half right, but i passed.

if you're an ME and can't pass this test, may God have mercy on your soul

Can't wait to get this test over with tomorrow, good luck to everyone taking it
4/11/2008 5:01:16 PM
how much has everyone studied
4/11/2008 5:07:59 PM
Not as much as I wanted to, mostly going to the FE class. I did go through all of the math and I skimmed some of the other sections. I took the sample test in the back of the prep book and have been looking over the answers for those questions. Right now I am going through the problems we went over in the FE class again hopefully that will be enough to pass.

i havent studied at alli just looked over the reference manualim screwed
4/11/2008 8:42:07 PM
^ same here

i don't know why i signed up to take itdon't really need it for IE, just an added plus. and with senior design and 3 other projects this semester i should have known betterim just pissed because im going to be out $130 if i don't passim planning on taking it in the fall if i don't pass i guess, and study this time
4/11/2008 9:16:22 PM
Thanks for all the info, CTA and honda. I feel better about it now. Been studying the past couple of days, about to finish up covering all the stuff in the 490 packet that supposedly should have been covered in class. How did the people who've already taken it do on times? I'm a slow test taker and that one of the main things I worry about is just running out of time.
4/11/2008 9:31:58 PM
yeah i studied some, but im an ee, and havent had statics, dynamics, or anything but the economics part of the morning exam

Just relax guys, get enough sleep tonight, don't party too lateI took FE last year, It wasn't that bad.Good luck!
4/11/2008 10:44:52 PM
I'm in on this fun.....Though the FE prep books I have tried the practice tests in have kicked my ass. I'm hoping for good luck in guessing!
4/11/2008 11:10:32 PM
soooo I don't remember ever choosing which exam to take in the afternoon, is that something we do tomorow?

my only advice to everyone is to TRY EVERY QUESTIONdont skip one, or guess an answer because it looks foreign to you. They spell all of the variables out pretty clearly in the problem statement, its just a matter of taking the time to find the correct equation in the book they give you.I barely studied, and didnt take any of the prep courses and passed on the first try. Half of the people in there just guessed answers for the 2nd session
4/12/2008 1:36:52 AM
GOOD LUCK YOU GUYS
4/12/2008 6:45:12 AM
Not bad at all. Based on the problems in the FE Review Manual, I was expecting a much more difficult test.
4/12/2008 5:00:29 PM
its over
4/12/2008 5:37:08 PM
^^same here. I'm gonna pass out for the next 20 hours, though. Some guy sitting in front of me left just under two hours into the afternoon session
4/12/2008 6:59:16 PM
^^that was me 2 years ago. did the ones i knew how to do, and looked at the other ones and if i had no clue, made an educated guess and moved on.
