THANK GOD. Hey Bloomberg you asshole we're not all billionaires, suck on this.I'm glad this didn't pass. It'd be a bad precedent for American cities. While I am in favor of reducing traffic around major metropolitan cities there needs to be an existing transportation solution. NYC does not have one. The subways are already over capacity during rush hour, so I'm pretty curious how they'd fit more people on there if they weren't driving b/c of the congestion pricing tax. Personally I don't drive into Manhattan b/c it almost never makes sense. But I do take the subway almost every day and don't like feeling like a sardine in a can.So, yay for failing

I don't understand why anyone would want to drive below 60th St.

It is not just shoving more people onto the subway, it is also convincing people to carpool.

^^^I totally agree. With one exception being if I'm going anywhere west of Manhattan while coming from Queens. GWB or Verrazanos are both way out of the way compared to the Lincoln Tunnel.Sure they're expanding the subway systems. But the 2nd Ave subway won't be opening (at best) in 2015. Thats not even close to now, lol.[Edited on April 8, 2008 at 11:33 PM. Reason : k]
