i swear ive called them before about this. before they even told me what it was about i explained that i dont need help paying for my credit if i was to be hospitalized or late.

his crap is crazy.

ive seen it before. it used to be like $1. SECU charges $1 for some donation. which is ok, but citi built it up to be a certain amount per $100 you have.

chase has done this to me before, auto-enrolled me without me asking

i called and some lady with attitude begrudgingly canceled it but wouldn't refund the money

the charge was only for like $5 and i got the renewal stopped after the first charge

but i transferred the balance off of that card and i have used that credit card exactly 0 times since that happened

if you try to cancel, they'll probably offer to send you $50 in gift certificates, "accepted everywhere your card is accepted"

the catch (of course there is a catch) is that they are really five $10 certificates, each redeemable only in a given 30-day period, none of them valid at the same time, and you have to be in the Credit Protector program at the time you use them

so basically they pay you $10/month to keep using their service which costs more than $10/month

bah, screw all that extra stuff.

i knew i had called them months ago about this. and they said that they dont have any record off hand, but will look back at all the calls i have ever made. i am so glad that companies record phone calls.

so now my balance is like $3500 trying to get it under $3000 when i get paid friday.

im sure i could pay it all off in two months, but then id have no extra money.
