The population of a colony of mosquitoes obeys the law of uninhibited growth. If there are 1000 mosquitoes initially and there are 1200 after 1 day, what is the size of the colony after 3 days? When will there be 10,000?Am I plugging it in wrong or what? This is the formula and I just can't get either answer and it's pissing me off!N(t)=N(0) e^kt

I got 1728 for 3 days and 13 days to go over 10000.This was just guesstimating but yeah you will have k=ln(1.2).[Edited on April 7, 2008 at 10:56 PM. Reason : V correct]

N(0) is 1000we know at t = 1, N(1) = 1200 = 1000*e^k(1)therefore, e^k = 1200/1000 = 1.2k = ln(1.2)so, at N(3) = 1000*e^(ln(1.2)*3)

If its webassign with its usual fucktardedness then theoretically you'll still be on the "12th" day when you reach the 10000 threshold.
