you need a vampire lawyer.

since it's such a high speed they can technically revoke your license. go into the DA and see if they drop it to 9 over (if there is no previous history they will) and if they dont offer that then ask for a continuation and get a lawyer

I got a 84 in a 65 a couple of months ago and i went in before my court date and they dropped it to 9 over and i was able to go ahead and pay it w/o having to go sit in court all day

so she should go into the DA's office or wait until the first court date?there's probably no way to get the court date pushed forward is there? we're hoping to move before the court date and it would suck for her to have to drive 12 hours south for it.^ where did you go into?[Edited on April 7, 2008 at 9:45 AM. I got an 81 in a 55 and got it reduced to 69 (I think if you go 15mph+ over the speed limit you can loose your liscense for a while) by a lawyer and ended up taking a PFJ. I know my friend got a 92 in a 65 and he got a PFJ + 30 hours community service, so it really depends on how strict the judge is.

Also, be very very nice to the DA. I went to court for a ticket, and while I was waiting in line, the girl before me was an absolute bitch to the DA. So when it was my turn, I was very nice and polite and she threw my whole ticket out of court. She was like "Thanks for not being a douche bag!"

the improper equipment fix has pretty much gone away from what my lawyer told me recently. It used to be common place, i was able to get off with it once, but the courts have made it harder for speeders to get off with that infraction. I got a 20 over a few years back, got a lawyer and had it dropped to 9 over. Took the license points over an insurance spike and just bit the bullet.^that happened on my most recent ticket. I was at fault in an accident but completely paid all of my insurance and what was owed to the other persons involved. I wasn't present for the case, but my lawyer presented my case calmly and explained my side of the events, which contradicted some of the report, and the DA threw the whole thing out.[Edited on April 7, 2008 at 9:51 AM. yeah in HS i had a 73 in a 55 dropped to an improper mufflerwasnt the case when i got an 82 in a 55 a few years later in college (i ended up trying to contest it due to the sheer impossibility of my car doing such speeds at the place it occurred... APPARENTLY I was clocked doing 82 ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP onto 440 from western, you know the one that's 270 degrees and enters the left lane, going towards jones franklin, not crabtree.... yeah, i'd have rolled my car.) ended up just getting a lawyer, he got it reduced to 9+, blah blah blahonly really hurt when i had to change insurance companies a few years later when my old company didnt issue in the state i moved to.

no lawyer, just walk in an ask politely to plea down, they will ask if you agree to pleading to 9 over... say yes and pay ~$110 and walk out.
