I'm always looking for new blogs to read that are web tech oriented. I've been reading Techcrunch, Read/WriteWeb, Engadget, but I want more blogs that are tutorials on how to do different tasks, and discussions of technologies such as A List Apart, Ajaxian, and the like. Anyone have any suggestions?

what kind of different tasks? for the most part i've stopped reading the big blogs and mostly read the people who are actually doing things rather than just talking about them. you'll notice that once you start reading the blogs of people who are an authority in whatever subject interests you, they link to others who are also qualified in that field, so look for their links and subscribe to those blogs.

Yup. I have noticed that. I would love to learn to do fun things in Python and Ruby. I've been working through two O'Reilly books for these languages, and while the book is fine, the projects tend to be lame. I'd love to see a tutorial on more fun projects for beginners, intermediate, and advanced level programmers, and work my way through each level
