Remember when game threads not made by ncsuftw1 were locked? This is like that. I run Packers threads.

It's serious business.

I don't think we should be running down fellow Packer fans.

Meanwhile, giving the plethora of games within relatively reasonable distance from NC - Tennessee, Atlanta, New Orleans, Jacksonville, and Tampa Bay - anyone planning on going out to any?

Sorry your thread got trashed, gforce.

^It would be nice to make the Falcons game. Maybe the Braves will be wrapping up the NLDS that weekend, too. Hopefully I'll be less poor in October.

Brohm makes sense - and I don't think it's an indictment of Rodgers, just that the two backup QBs at the moment are Dalton Bell and Jerry Babb) and we needed a younger CB with a higher ceiling.

I have no idea where Jordy Nelson will fit in, but it wouldn't surprise me if he took KoRo's spot -- mostly because I don't want to see him take James Jones or Ruvell's snaps.

Quote :
"After 1,561 days, a young man finally takes off his Favre jersey

By MJD

David Witthoft, the youngster who had been wearing the same Brett Favre jersey every day for more than four years, has finally taken it off.

The timing of Favre's retirement actually works out pretty well for the young fellow. He was turning 12, and as 12-year-olds often do, he was growing quickly. The jersey he was given on his 8th birthday barely covered his torso these days.

And, being 12, he had also started to become concerned about his appearance, and as far as I know, the "snug, faded jersey that doesn't cover the belly button" look hadn't taken hold as a major fashion trend. At least not when employed every single day of the year.

So the streak ends at 1,561 days, and I applaud the young man for his Favre enthusiasm. I can't say I love any player enough to wear his jersey every single day. Not until the Ryan Leaf comeback, anyway.

What shirt got the call in place of the tattered jersey? A red Nike shirt. I have been unable to confirm reports that Aaron Rogers is visiting the Witthoft household every day, crying and begging the young man to wear an Aaron Rogers #12 jersey.

The new "longest amount of time one man has been wearing the same jersey" streak belongs to Ricky Polaski of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, who has been wearing a Ben Roethlisberger over a Journey t-shirt for approximately 77 hours. But that's only because he hasn't felt like showering or leaving his apartment in that time.

"According to Al Harris' agent, the Packers cornerback asked one doctor to remove his spleen so that he could play this week against Tampa Bay.

Of course, the request was rejected, but in an update Jack Bechta gave on the National Football Post, a football web site of which he is one of the founders, Bechta said Harris really wants to play again this season. If further tests show only a laceration, doctors will perform a CT scan in a couple of weeks to see how he is healing and then determine a timeline for his recovery.

Bechta said test results will be known in the next 48 hours."

Somewhere, Plaxico Burress is weeping.
