Your link is broken (or something, it says DNS error..)but i'm guessing that's the economic stimulus letter they've been sending out that EVERYONE's been getting.

You guessed wrong... it's a hand-drawn drawing of a screw on a hand-drawn piece of paper.

I call bullshit on student paying taxes
3/27/2008 1:15:14 AM
^hey, maybe he just makes so much money as a college student that he's one of the people actually legitimately getting screwed out of the money.[Edited on March 27, 2008 at 1:16 AM. Reason : asfdasd]

Huh. Mine said a bunch of stuff about being pre-approved for a $600 loan or something. I tossed it before I saw what their interest rate was.
3/27/2008 6:30:38 AM
I got that one too.Last year State refund=$***Fed Refund=$***Total refund=$***This yearState refund= -$***Fed refund = $**Total refund = -$**Yep I had to pay more money. I'm 20 and for the last three years I've gotten everything back.

I had to pay extra taxes last year, too. And this was before I was a server, or I worked even that much. It doesn't take that much to have to pay taxes.
3/27/2008 8:17:17 AM
I paid a lot of taxes while i was a student.I imagine that's probably the same for most of us who didn't have parents who could afford tuition and had to work our way through college...

I've held at least one job since I turned sixteen (and farm work before). But I've still gotten it all back. But this year I had a good job for a few months and had 30+ hours a week while I there.
3/27/2008 8:38:58 AM
Doesn't matter what side job you had. Any student going to a state university is receiving a hell of a lot more from tax payers than what they are paying.
3/27/2008 8:55:37 AM
Sure as fuck doesn't mean they don't pay any taxes.
3/27/2008 9:01:28 AM
the only sure things in life are....
3/27/2008 9:03:56 AM
^^^You sir are wrong. And quite possibly an idiot.
3/27/2008 9:26:53 AM
I actually don't know the answer to that. Where does the money that goes to a state university go? I know they get public tax funds, but what does it typically get used on? Anyone know?
3/27/2008 11:43:46 AM
I owe about $1000 federal and about $500 statebut I'm not a student
3/27/2008 11:45:51 AM
I thought I always got all my money back in the form of a refund, but last year I made more than $4k as a independent contractor (no withholdings) and about $1k with about $100 in withholdings out of that. So theoretically I should still get a refund if I get all my taxes back in refunds. We'll see though. Also, my parents don't get the extra $300 because I am older than 17. I was planning on hitting them up for that $300 since I don't get anything

^Of course not. Leeches always get offended by reality. It takes a really delusional person to complain about not getting enough handouts on top of the handouts they are already getting.
3/27/2008 6:23:57 PM
Dear, jethromoore,We're subsidizing your entire life right now.<3 G.W.
3/27/2008 6:32:19 PM
I have always managed to get most of my fed taxes back
3/27/2008 7:27:16 PM
Yeah...no job = no taxes paid. Job = taxes.Obviously it will matter what the job is.
