Has anyone taken either of these classes? Can you give me any information on them??

ma 405, with koev if u can. the class is just matrices, a lot of which u can do in the calc if u know what u r doing. Koev gives a practice test, goes all over it, and then the actual test is about 95% the same, only difference will be instead of something like (1 2, 3 4) 2x2 matrix from the practice, he will chance it to (2 1, 4 3) or something. Easy A

I've taken both of them and Aced both of them. MA 405 is a cake walk. MA 412 was hard. I had Min Kang though for 412, who is a good teacher so the only difficulty was the material. Tao Pang is suppose to be a really bad teacher so you have to factor in a bad teacher and hard material. I didn't like this class, I hated the material and could never get into it. I only kept it cause it counted as ST and MA credit. If you're looking for easy, I'd consider MA 408 or MA 402

Also I would take MIsra for 405, not Jing.

Agreed. Avoid Jing if possible
