I need some help diagnosing a strange revving that my car does when switching into 2nd gear. It is a 2002 Civic with automatic transmission (63K miles). When I accelerate and the transmission shifts into second gear, the engine revs up on its own as the gears change. Is this a transmission problem or some kind of timing problem? I'm not too mechanically inclined, but is there anything I can do to help the problem, as it has gotten pretty bad recently. Any ideas as to how much I am looking at to fix and a good place to get it done?Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

it means your transmission is slipping, could be something as simple as a clogged filter or old fluid dropping the line pressure, or a clutch set or band about to shit out, one thing is for sure though, it will only get worse if you keep driving it like that
