I don't support Obama because his policies are not well thought out. As I have said in many, many previous posts....

1) it is unclear what he will do in Iraq. He claims to want pull out "immediatley", but remarks he made in 2006 and remarks his staff have made in subsequent years contradict this sentiment. Links can be provided on request (I've posted them 10-12 other times, so i don't think it's necc unless someone can't find them).

2) his health care plan (as presented) is ill conceived. It would, without a doubt, raise premiums and make it harder for working poor to afford health insurance. It also does not address the primary crisis in health care--rising costs. In fact, by increasing demand for health care resources, his plan will likely make the problem worse.

3) His position on NAFTA is either dumb or dishonest. If he actually thinks closing America off to its largest trading partner (Canada) will make us richer, he's crazy. If he doesn't think this, then he's a liar.

And I could keep going on. I consider myself a progressive, but I don't believe Obama is the best candidate running for President. And it has nothing to do with his race.

both women and blacks had to carry out steps and processes to get the same rights that white males had all along

its kind of funny that hillary and barack...both proponents of affirmative action, which does apply to both women and racial minorities, are proponents of affirmative action because they want to see minorities like women and blacks have equal opportunities...but they obviously dont want to see the other one succeed and become president

i bet both of them wish their opponent was john edwards or some other white male cause they cant really pander using the affirmative action card

Minority usually refers to minority in political and economic power. Women comprise 50% of the population, but less than 1% of the elected reps in the House and Senate are women. And very few CEOs of companies, professors at Universities, etc are women.

I don't think that's totally 100% discrimination. But, I don't believe it's a stretch to call them a minority either.
