When I got home from church Sunday, I found that my lab mix puppy was gone. She and my pure lab had gotten out of the fence. He was still in our yard, but she was no where to be seen. She disappeared between 11am and 4pm.She went missing in the Brent Road, Avent Ferry, Gormen area. She is a very light yellow lab mix with a black smudge on her left hip. She's about 3 months old, and very playful. She loves cats--especially tacking them and gently chewing on their ears. Her name is Calypso and she'll usually respond to it. She may have been wearing a purple and white stripped collar (you can see it in the pictures.)Please help me! This puppy is very special to and I love her very much. She was a Valentine's day present from my new husband. If you have seen her or if you picked her up for safekeeping, please please call me at 919-332-3169. I miss my baby!I have heard a puppy matching her description was seen yesterday in one of the apartment complexes around Lake Johnson--if you have my baby, PLEASE send her home. You can't imagine how badly my heart is breaking. And yes, there is a reward.[Edited on March 18, 2008 at 3:06 PM. Reason : location]

Thanks to everyone who responded...I really hope we get her back. I've never had a dog that I've raised from a puppy before, so she's very special. Not to mention she was born 2 weeks after I got married!Like I said earlier...there is a reward. No questions asked. I just want my baby back. Mom keeps asking about her grandpuppy and it's breaking my heart. :'(

i hope she didnt get hit in the road

If she did get hit, we haven't been able to find her. :/I wonder if it'd be better *knowing* instead of sitting in limbo. (Or, more correctly, driving around like gas is cheap.)

Bump, just in case anyone's seen my baby. Please, if you have any information at all, call 919-332-3169. there's a reward for any information that helps me find her.I really love this puppy like you can't imagine. I want this stupid nightmare over.

have you put up any posters yet or contacted the spca to see if they had picked her up? More than likely with a dog that cute a person took her home and doesn't really want to report it. I'd post fliers.
3/19/2008 9:44:51 AM
I have fliers up all over the place...all down Brent and Octavia and Gormen and up at the Food Lion.I know she's really cute...but whoever took her can't possibly fathom the history there. She was born 2 weeks after I got married and was a wedding/Valentine's Day present from my husband. I can't replace something like that. If I get another puppy (IF! I can't imagine getting another puppy and setting myself up for another heartbreak because of assholes like this) she'll not be Calypso. She'll be special...but she won't be a special.God, I'm so depressed over this.

I've seen the posters, I live on Brent. Such a cute puppy. I've not seen him around though. There are people on Brent that let there huge dogs just roam free, so hopefully your pup hasn't encountered any of them...I hope he returns safe. Make sure to check the shelters daily. And I'll keep one eye peeled (what a weird saying) GL.

Thanks to everyone who responded--CALYPSO IS HOME!!A lady from work saw two girls with her at the Quiznos and called me. Thank heavens!I'm going to go snuggle my little girl now. <3
3/19/2008 1:41:14 PM
quiznos? like on avent ferry? damn i wouldnt have guessed it would have wondered that far off
3/19/2008 1:44:30 PM
wow, that was really lucky. Im glad you got your puppy back

drunknloaded -- Yeeeeah, she didn't wander that far off. Apparently these two girls saw her outside my house and decided to take her home and keep her. They were seriously nasty about me getting her back--whining about how she was "covered in fleas", "really dirty", and "soooo hungry". 1: yes, she had fleas--the flea meds we used worked on our other dog but not her. We couldn't put any more on for another week. 2: she's an outside dog who likes to play in the mud. And she's WHITE. Of course she's dirty! 3: She's a purebred lab. I have *never* seen a lab turn down food. Our other lab ate MELONS for heaven's sake. No dog should eat melons.People like that really upset me--taking someone's PET for heaven's sake and not trying very hard to find her owner. Atleast they didn't get her fixed or anything--though I'm sure *that* was next.
3/19/2008 3:32:36 PM
glad you got her back.
3/19/2008 4:16:15 PM
How old were the girls? Students?
3/19/2008 4:37:37 PM
yay! I'm glad your puppy got home safely!!

Yeah--they were students.Yes, she's an unfixed outdoor dog. I highly suspect that if she does have puppies, we'll end up with Lab puppies, not mutts since both of our dogs are purebred labs. And hahaha--I worried that if people knew she was a pure lab, not some kind of mutt, they would want to keep her even more. I guess it didn't matter in the end.
3/19/2008 6:00:16 PM
^ ha, that's what I was just thinking.
3/19/2008 6:01:53 PM
^^the puppies will still be mutts unless it randomly happens that another purebred lab is the father.
3/19/2008 6:09:55 PM
if she pops out any chocolate labs i got dibs on one
3/19/2008 6:13:35 PM
amazon, the potential daddy is also an AKC registered labby--a black one. We call em a matched set. jataylor, with the genetics that the daddy has, they should have a black/chocolate litter...not for a while though! Her mom had 13 puppies...I'm really hoping giant litters do *not* run in the family.
