so the other night, i think sunday, there was the premier of a 4 week health show.

i forgot the name of the show but its airing once a week for 4 weeks. they are using the same audience (weighing them and seeing how much they lose).

anyways, the main point of the show was to eat what you want, but slow it down.

its not a "diet" just a different way to still eat whatever you want. its nothing new. people have been saying for ever to chew longer and eat slower so your body can react when you are full.

give it a try.
the main point was, eat whenever you are hungry, because starving yourself just ends up costing you in the long run.

when you have your food. take one bite, put down your fork and knife, chew at least 20 times. then repeat. and once you feel full, you're done.

its all about conscious eating and knowing when to start and stop.

over eating.

just thought id share re-introduce this way of eating.
ill try to find the shows name

aah yes. that was the name.

haha ive been searching tv guide

i thought it was i can make you skinny.

anywhoo. it was a fairly interesting show. but of course he could have said all of that in a 30 second commercial. kinda makes you wonder. he's pretty confident if he is shelling out cash for this.

its not really a diet. its kind of the "correct" way to eat.

slower.

people eat way too fast and distracted.

ive cut out a lot of distractions during eating in the past. TV, eating out, drinks.

im just surprised they spent money to get the point across. im waiting on something for people to buy

they've done numerous dateline type shows. having smaller plates. eating slower. and the one they showed during the show, eating with eyes closed (kind of like having smaller plate).

So basically, the point is to eat less.

Genius.

I used to make myself take a swallow of water between bites too. I also forced down a big glass of water before I even started eating. You can get full really fast this way. Only way I survived a year of living off the buffet lines at the dining hall

Actually, the point is to eat slowly and enjoy the food, which will cause you to eat less without you trying to eat less.

Everybody says we should eat less, but really, how many people can follow that advice?

But telling people to eat slowly works better [apparently], and when you are full, you know it right then, instead of 10-15 minutes after you are full.

yeah.

technically you're eating less, but thats because you're eating slower and give your stomach enough time to tell your brain "y0 im full".

Not for me. I drank a 20 oz Gatorade G2 and two 20 oz glasses of tap temperature water with dinner last night and I still had to stop myself when I knew I had enough to eat. Liquids just seem to go right through me. And I ate plenty of food to be full...Chopped pork, diced sweet potatoes, green beans, pita chips, and hummus. I just have to fix a reasonable plate and say "this is all I'm eating" or else I can eat a ton of food.
