But, on a seperate note, it's too bad this couldn't have broke closer to a major primary.

So this guy makes fun of bill clinton, and condemns black people for hating on blacks that hate on other blacks for being "too white," but somehow the right doesn't like him.

Clearly the guy is a leftist, but the only thing strange about those videos is that people aren't used to seeing that type of delivery.

^ Um. . .I don't know any people like the "Reverend." But, yeah, every church gives "lifetime achievement" awards to the likes of Louis Farrakhan--a known black separatist, bigot, and anti-Semite.

But keep up your defensive contortions. They're providing a great source of amusement.

^ so is the nobel prize committee anti-semitic for giving arafat a peace prize too?

You have yet to provide a single separatist comment, and are jumping to conclusions about their beliefs based on specious reasoning. As much as you get called out for this, i'd think you'd have learned your lesson by now.

I don't have a problem with Wright saying what he said - lots of people feel the exact same way, whether they say it out loud or not. It just isn't PC.

Wright is a smart guy, he wouldn't have said that shit on camera if he knew Obama was going to run for fucking president of the fucking united states of fucking america

^x5 Called out? STFU--saying it doesn't make it so, junior. You think you're so fucking smart, but you don't know shit.

Perhaps you could explain Wright's adoption and promotion of the "Black Value System"--sounds very inclusive.

lol do you realize that this post more supports my position? Wright says he's not a separatist and you posted no speeches indicating he was. And I don't see why you even posted the definition of separatism.

Are you sick or something? This is weaker than normal for you.

And how much sense does it make for a black separatist to have a best friend that is half white? How ironic would it be for a half white person to be the vehicle to promote a separatist agenda? Like most religious people, wright is probably a bit nuts, but no where near as nuts as people are making him out to be, and not nutty enough to really cast doubts about Obama.

like any thread in TSB over the past 7 years?

watch one of bush's cabinet or aides or advisors get in trouble...watch a rogue soldier in the army photograph some humility...let some oil exec get in the news...Bush can publicly lie and say he wasn't aware of it, but you don't believe that...yet Obama says "oh I didn't know my pastor said these things" you believe him?

If he's publicly lying, why would I believe him?

But, I don't think anyone personally blamed bush for Abu Ghraib, and there was some circumstantial evidence linking CHeney to it, but mostly I think people were blaming the culture of Bush's whitehouse.

And considering the very deep ties both Bush and Cheney have to the oil industry (especially Cheney), it's not unreasonable to think people are using their past connections with the.

And, Obama is being very careful with his wording. He's not outright saying he didn't know his pastor wasn't saying these things. He's saying he didn't know of that particular speech, and that if wright had been making a regular habit out of it, he wouldn't have gone to that church.

And on top of that, as GoldenViper pointed out, most of what he says isn't as bad as people are making it out to be. The worst that i've hear was the AIDS thing.

^^ i haven't seen any clips of him saying anything racist either.

and considering Obama is a politician, its not unreasonable to think he's completely full of shit in his denial of ignorance and in general he is only saying what he feels are the safest things to say before the election

but when you said "especially Cheney" thats the point I'm making...Cheney isn't the President....you want to say "Wright isn't running for President" as if only things that Obama says are fair game...but Cheney isn't President...sure he's an elected govt official...but who is to say Wright wouldn't get at minimum an advisory role on Obama's cabinet? Aren't we supposed to evaluate the candidates during the campaign to find things like this out before its too late?

hahaha. The best part about this whole thing is that Obama supporters are in such a pickle.

I mean, I'm sure they want to say "this election isn't about bullshit, it's about the issues", but they know for a fact that it just ain't so. There is really no question that Hillary and Edwards both showed themselves to be much more capable with handling and communicating policy than Obama. He's getting nominated on the "wow" factor, which is total 100% pure grade bullshit.

So how do you say bullshit doesn't matter when your candidate's momentum is fueled on bullshit? Well, terp has the talking points down as best as anyone--call everyone that criticizes Obama a racist and hope things blow over before the next primary.

We'll see if this strategy plays out.

Well terp, you are acting like a kid backed into a corner...avoiding admiting and spinning all you can.

You first said it wasnt racist IF it was true...(which you then said you didnt believe it was true) So you could infer that, according to your definition, it was a racist statement.

Next, you avoid my question about how it is passed. Mainly bc RACE inst an issue, its lifestyle and activities that spread it.. not race.

Keep spinning, its pretty amusing. Since youve already called me a bigot, for pointing out, according to your definition, a racist statement by the good rev... Where will you turn to next? Im guessing avoidance.

Well, in fairness, HIV may have originated in the production process of the hepatitis B vaccine some decades ago. But if the accidental opening of this Pandora's box is finally proved, it still will not be "genocide," which is deliberate, against any particular group.

i for one, don't support obama because of "bullshit." and if clinton is so much better about communicating and handling policy, then why is her campaign the ones slinging all the non-policy mud? also, if she were so good at handling policy, then why did she fail so disastrously at her one big attempt to "handle" policy?

and i'd really like to know the evidence that edwards is better at "handling" policy than obama. he may have different views from obama. but how has he shown that he is somehow more skilled at policy than obama?

^^^ Clinton did not go negative, really, until after South Carolina. And I'm guessing it's because she realized that no one gave a fuck about policy. So what do they care about? Non-sense. So she tried to throw the Obama train off the tracks with as much nonsense as she could find.

And I don't blame her for her failures. If you are going to try and change things, you're bound to fail at least a few times. What I can't stand are the people that stand on the sidelines, that have neither sucesses or failures to show for their time in politics. Obama did not do much as a state senator (he was part of a major ethics initiative, but he did not play a leading role, in fact he was not involved until he was asked to take part by the president of the senate) and he has not done much as a U.S. Senator. So I really have no idea how well he will be able to push his agenda as President.

But if you care about policy, would you care to describe which of Obama's policies you like better than anyone else's and why? And I do mean policies that Obama has that are better than any one elses. Not just policy positions he shares with every other Democrat.
