I've really started to notice lately that getting a drink at a restauruant is particularly expensive. Here are some places to avoid getting anything besides water: California Pizza Kitchen- 2.39Trips- 2.50Outback- 2.50I guess they know that most people don't look at the price of a drink until its too late. Other practices that are particulary shady I believe are asking you if you would like, say for example, avacado on your salad. Of course I would like avacado on my salad but they dont tell you its like $1.50. It took getting burned once before I started to always ask "how much".Also, why do they always bring one more roll than there are people at the table too? 2 people=3 rolls, 5 people=6 rolls. Whats up with that?

don't eat at chains?
3/11/2008 12:15:51 PM
looking for the alpha male and the person to hand the check toand drinks are becoming a rip but at least you get as many as you wantI mow down 4-5 diet cokes easy so I get my moneys worth
3/11/2008 12:15:55 PM
3/11/2008 12:15:57 PM
i either drink a beer or a water, and i'm fully aware i'm going to be paying more than 2-3 bucks for a beer
3/11/2008 12:16:14 PM
Aren't fountain drinks pretty cheap to fill up? I'm not sure whats up with the varying costs of soda's at the different restauraunts. I mean, 2.50 is getting close to a gallon of gas.
3/11/2008 12:20:58 PM
It's syrup mix + carbonated soda. It's not even really the actual drinks usually. That's why sometimes when a drink runs out it just puts out the nasty colorless water. They're mostly just jacking up the price to rip you off because they can.
3/11/2008 12:22:45 PM
3/11/2008 12:23:44 PM
I'm perfectly OK with them keeping the price of food down because soda addicts are willing to shell out $3 for their fix.
3/11/2008 12:24:42 PM
It's not Coke in the sense you're used to it as. i.e. in a bottle or can. It's carbonated liquid and flavoring syrup.
3/11/2008 12:25:14 PM
dont be that asshole who gets watermotherfuckers hate motherfuckers like that
3/11/2008 12:25:26 PM
fuck the complaining about rolls shit....they should bring morebread is awesome
3/11/2008 12:25:41 PM
if you want more rolls don't eat at some corporate shithole that regulates dumb stuff like bread. non chains ftw. although i do enjoy a chain now and then, i'd rather avoid them in all their bureaucratic breadyness
3/11/2008 12:27:44 PM
What's wrong with drinking water? Diet soda is nasty, and I don't really see the need to drink several hundred calories with every meal.
3/11/2008 12:28:06 PM
OMFG ALL CHAINS ARE BAD!!! OMFG!!!
3/11/2008 12:28:38 PM
i always get water.soda is bad for you
3/11/2008 12:29:27 PM
water ftw.but i don't drink with my meals anyway. if waiters weren't so "WTF?" about just not bringing me anything to drink, i wouldn't even waste their water.
3/11/2008 12:31:51 PM
no drinking with meals? wow, i'm like the opposite. i down like 10 glasses of water before my meal even comes. then i am too full to eat.
3/11/2008 12:33:36 PM
that's why i dont. if you drink WHILE eating, it flushes food through your stomach real fast, so you eat more.
3/11/2008 12:35:07 PM
oh geez all these things i never knew would have saved me so much trouble!!!
3/11/2008 12:36:02 PM
I've found a problem with the god damn local restauraunts too. Particularly Amedeo's. You never know when that damn place is going to close. The sign outside says its open until 9:30 on sundays. I show up there at 8:50 or so ready to get a delicious pizza and the girl tells me the fucking kitchen is closed. The Village Draft House is about the only place around where I've consistently gotten good food and good service.

Yeah, same thing happened to me at Hooters the other day. My friends and I ordered 4 cups of Pepsi and when the check came in I was like whoa...it was $2.39 a piece
3/11/2008 12:51:41 PM
And why is coffee and tea so expensive? I think the prices at most restaurants are jacked.
3/11/2008 12:52:51 PM
some say the water absorbs into foods and makes it biggerothers say that it interupts digestive enzymes.there is nothing wrong with drinking while eating, like that link says,
3/11/2008 12:53:53 PM
3/11/2008 12:58:02 PM
... or that we just like water. Why is that concept so hard for some people to understand?
3/11/2008 12:59:20 PM
im going to go ahead and say itjust b/cit needs to happen, and i dont think anyone else has yet"if you cant afford to eat out, then dont"
3/11/2008 12:59:21 PM

3/11/2008 1:02:28 PM
yeah they rip you hard on soda - even fast food does it, cept they make it so it's CHEAPER to get a drink than it is to get just the sandwich and fries. FUCKING LAME. tho i will say I love saying no when the guy at subway says" drink and chips?".
3/11/2008 1:04:41 PM
fountains drinks have some of the biggest profit margins in the worldMy friend worked at the Knights and said the 4 dollar souvenir soda contained 10 cents worth of sodathats a 4000 percent markup, and most people dont think twice about it

3/11/2008 1:10:43 PM
the worst thing in my opinion is when a joint charges you for water
3/11/2008 1:10:49 PM
yes. charge me for water = lose a customer
3/11/2008 1:11:09 PM
at taco bell-it's cheaper to get the Three Taco Supremes combo without tomato than it is to get the Three Taco combo and add sour cream
3/11/2008 1:11:41 PM
Who the hell charges for water?
3/11/2008 1:12:17 PM

3/11/2008 1:13:40 PM

3/11/2008 1:17:44 PM
^just because you have money doesn't mean you should overpay for stuff.
3/11/2008 1:19:35 PM
i hope i never lose my 'cheapness' shit is cost effective
3/11/2008 1:19:39 PM
i like when i pull through a fast food restaurant for lunch and order a combo and they're like "medium or large" and i'm like "medium" and it turns out i couldve just stuck with "regular" which is less than medium
3/11/2008 1:24:07 PM
whenever I go to wendy's I biggie size it but I get the ceasar salad instead of friesand I'm always like 'can you biggify the salad too?' but theyre like 'nah'kinda of bullshit tho, since they charge you the whole biggie cost but you only get half of your shit biggied
3/11/2008 1:26:08 PM
3/11/2008 1:27:06 PM
i've been to PF Changs and the bastard waiter tacked an additional 1.50-2.00 on for his tip...aand we tipped him like 15-20% in the first place. thats bullshit. an extra dollar aint that much, but its still fucked up
3/11/2008 1:29:33 PM
