i didn't originally think this would be that hard, but i'm having trouble finding something that meets my needs. i would like something or some setup to enable me to perform multi-instrumental music solo. the instruments would include guitars, bass, synths and keyboards, mic'd instruments, and potentially some programmed drumbeats. the only peice of equipment i've found that may work is the boss RC-50. does anyone have experience with looping live?

the RC-50 is the easiest one to use liveelectro-harmonix has one, but you have to buy a foot controller for it. its absolutely sick, but you'll end up spending 600 bucks.i'm a drummer and trigger loops live an RC-2 (small version of the RC-50). can be cumbersome at times, but its mad easy to use.i'd say go with the RC-50. boss makes solid stuff.

I'd also recommend the Line 6 DL4.http://www.zzounds.com/item--LINDL4I'm a big fan of the Akai Head Rush (http://www.akaipro.com/prodE2Headrush.php), which I use, although if you're in need of some serious looping skillz I would go for the Boss or the Line 6.]

do any of these give you the option of actually setting a bpm or just a tap? if i ever sequenced in drum patterns i would prefer to already have a station that allowed a bpm to be set. so it sounds like the RC-50 is the way to go? how easy is it to use (ie how long until i'm proficient)?^ you know it man. how about a metal bluegrass band?

you can tap tempo with the rc-50you can also do this with rc-2 if you have an fs-5u hooked up to it, which is what i do (just slightly cheaper, but i already had the fs-5u so it made sense)gonna take you awhile...i mean doing loops in general just take practice, but the rc-50 is just an easier pedal to learn on in my opinion and it gives you a good range of options for the price.

^^ haha yea. ive still been itching to have a side project that is some mixture of the casket lottery/jimmy eat world/get up kids/sunny day real estate/minus the bear/braid/beloved/pavement etc. Something that kind of throws all those 90s rock/posthardcore/old school emo-screamo bands together that i love and comes out with something a little different than what a lot of current bands are doing. i have a bass player here in SC but thats about it

Akai has tap tempo. Setting a BPM manually is for douchenozzlers who ain't can play guitars good.

damn

^^^ sounds pretty rad. i'd be down if i was closer. i've had a little trouble finding many musicians in florida while working all the time. hence the looping station to do everything myself.

haha yea that makes sense.
