I'll go if I'm around that weekend.

Most of y'all are too young to remember this, but they used to play house shows here in Raleigh back around 1998 or 1999. An NCSU student had them at his house twice I think (I saw them there once, but I think they played a second time). It was at the corner of Pogue and Vanderbilt iirc.

Yay for the pre-NPO era.

Im not even a huge fan and id go. very well respected punk band

a house off ashe avenue used to have house shows in ~2003 a bunch. had some well known bands playing on a dirt floor in a very small basement. it was mainly punk and old school screamo/post hardcore shows along the lines of a day in black and white, funeral diner, explosions in the sky, circle takes the square, (and yes a few of those bands actually played there).

The only time I went to the Ashe house a bunch of stuff got stolen and somebody got shot out back. I think that was the last show they had.

A wolfwebber or two lived there at the time.

a lot of times there were only like 15-20 people at the shows plus the bands. it was a lot of fun though. one night they had a show there and it was cold and snowing on the way home and i was on my bike back to wood hall on campus from ashe avenue. i definitely couldnt feel any of my limbs by the time i hit the icy hill in front of the dorm and barely made it up haha

^yea street was sketch

i used to watch SA vids on pheer back in the day but that was about it, although i wouldn't mind seeing the riverboat gamblers and would LOVE to see coliseum...i think i might go to the bury your dead show as well

Speaking of another good show...

Anti-flag playing at CC on April 23rd. New CD is awesome by the way. This is another very well respected punk band in my opinion...been around so long and still have stuck their roots and not sold out

Yeah...They got added to the bill a little late. That's pretty huge for Raleigh to see two great bands together. I'm

The Unseen is playing Cat's Cradle sometime soon...I don't remember the date. I might check that out too. I've been back in the groove of all that new school punk rock type stuff lately. Listening to a lot of The Pist, The Unseen, Falling Sickness, Strike Anywhere, etc.

Not sure if any of you like them but Alkaline Trio is relasing a new album real soon too. Heard a couple tracks so far, pretty damn good. Be on the look out and FINALLY a tour from them, been way too damn long since they've toured.

Been jammin out to strike anywhere a lot lately...the show Friday should be sick.

^^ i havent enjoyed alkaline trio in awhile. either i grew out of them or they wore their sound out...and after so many albums i think its a bit of both. i loved their s/t, gd, maybe ill catch fire, and from here to infirmary though. only seen them live 1x and they were a disappointment

Anti-flag used to play The Caboose all the time in the mid-90's which was this little dump of a biker bar in Garner. It got shut down by the SBI shortly after Scumfest 1998. There were tons of absolutely insane happenings at that place from 1994-1998 though.

I'm getting too old.

Haha...well I'm 22 and still love punk shows. Anti-flag puts on an awesome show. That's so cool they used to play in Garner. I recently saw them in there home state of Pittsburgh play at a bingo hall, haha. It's just so awesome how they still play small venues.

But replying to calledtoarms...i heard yah about Alk3 and their earlier shit. Can't beat it, some of there old songs "goodbye forever, my friend peter, cooking wine, radio, etc". Basically their songs off the albums you were talking about, hands down just awesome songs. GD was a great cd, one of my if not favorite.

I'd like to go. I used to love this band back in the day.

However, I am broke. I've seen them 4-5 times, so I might just save my cash.
