Did this thread starter get lost again and leave chit chat?
3/5/2008 1:50:25 PM
if i were a mod i'd seriously suspend you for that
3/5/2008 1:52:14 PM
it is no surprise that this happened, dnl. If you had paid attention to elections at all in the past, or simply listened to what little bit of common sense that is left, you would know that this was an expected move.It is customary for the sitting president to "pass" the leadership of the party to the nominee of said party. This is not breaking news. It's not even new. And you, sir, are a retard.
3/5/2008 1:52:22 PM
i'd seriously suspend you for that also
3/5/2008 1:53:06 PM
well you can't, because you're a textbook definition of a minor case of downs... and you're not a mod. And if you were a mod, I would hope you would delete your own thread before suspending me as to mask the embarrassment you must now feel.
3/5/2008 1:57:08 PM
lol you are the one looking like a psychopath right now
3/5/2008 2:01:45 PM
really?
3/5/2008 2:03:02 PM
3/5/2008 2:40:21 PM
I heard Bill Clinton endorsed Gore in 2000
3/5/2008 2:46:00 PM
DNL, i think its interesting as to how slapped-together and unenthusiastic the whole endorsement sounded.there was some serious bad blood between GWB and McCain back in 2000, but McCain seems to have become one of the prez. most consistent backers since the whole Iraq war started.I agree with what i think is your point: GWB's public endorsement is not a help to most politicians these days. many local republicans in close races around the country actually asked him NOT to appear publicly for them in 2006, prefering instead low-key private big $ fundraisersbut yeah, GWB's endorsement of McCain was an expected formality.
3/5/2008 3:15:59 PM
I heard Eisenhower endorsed Nixon in 1960
3/5/2008 3:16:09 PM
I remember someone on this site said that this picture was taken while black people were drowning in NO from Katrina
3/5/2008 3:17:48 PM
^^ actually, that might be a *very* close analogy to the 2008 race. much closer than you probably intended.[Edited on March 5, 2008 at 3:19 PM. Reason : ]
3/5/2008 3:18:58 PM
you give me no credit..... did the destroy my analogy?
3/5/2008 3:19:56 PM
ah, i wasn't sure....well done sir.
3/5/2008 3:22:04 PM
^^^^ You mean those stupid bastards who stayed despite the constant urgings and warnings to leave New Orleans?[Edited on March 5, 2008 at 3:23 PM. Reason : the race baiting is getting old]
3/5/2008 3:23:04 PM
yeah, the stupid bastards who had no money or cars in the face of a broken down FEMA being run by a horse judge.those guys.fuck em. [Edited on March 5, 2008 at 3:30 PM. Reason : ]
3/5/2008 3:24:19 PM
FEMA comes in after the fact, dumbass. And FEMA comes at the request of the governor of the state.^ For the intelligence impared like Mr. Sunshine above...http://www.fema.gov/rebuild/recover/dec_guide.shtmIt has nothing to do with being poor. It has to do with the fact that many people willfully ignored the pleas of the government to leave New Orleans. People like you and terpball want to turn it into an OMG!!1!! bush and the republicans wanna kill blacks peeplessss!!!1!!!, which is nothing more than malicious stupidity and ignorance on display.[Edited on March 5, 2008 at 3:30 PM. Reason : ]
3/5/2008 3:25:12 PM
he's getting this endorsement over with as soon as he can. he knows bush isn't very popular right now.
3/5/2008 3:25:45 PM
shit just got real, yo
3/5/2008 3:25:58 PM
^^^ i know how the fuck FEMA works. I did contract work with them at their Raleigh headquarters on Capital Blvd. after Hurricane Fran.and I know during Katrina it was a broken down sack of shit, run by a numnuts horse judge with a riding crop up his ass.Heckuva Job brownie.now go kick a homeless bum for Jesus. that's what Jesus did: fuck the poor. smack 'em on the other cheek.goddamn, i wanna convert to self-righteous catholicism too. can i? can i?[Edited on March 5, 2008 at 3:31 PM. 3/5/2008 3:29:23 PM
I, also, think that fema was a broken down piece of shit.... except I think it should've never existed in the firstplace... as a safety net for those who want to live in risky areas can... on my dolla.Fuck that.
3/5/2008 3:30:35 PM
^ you have no idea, do you?were you in Raleigh -- "high risk" Raleigh -- during Hurricane Fran?
3/5/2008 3:32:37 PM
Joe, for someone who supposedly knows how FEMA works, maybe you should learn their protocol before your partisan ignorance gets in the way of the facts. It has nothing to do with the poor, dumbshit. Get off your own self righteous high horse. It has to do with people who willfully ignored the pleas of the government to leave. Maybe the democrat governor and democrat mayor should have done a better job of getting their people out, and despite what you think, Bush has a whole country to think of, not just New Orleans. And FYI, I gave my money, my time, and my effort restoring that region so it could function again, so you are in no position to make snide remarks about my religion or my values. [Edited on March 5, 2008 at 3:38 PM. Reason : ]

There's no doubt that the mayor of New Orleans is completely useless but it's not like a lot of the people there could get out without some kind of government assistance. Not like they could just load all their stuff up the SUV and head to Alabama no matter how hard the government was pleading for them to get out.
3/5/2008 3:38:42 PM
In other newsBill Clinton has endorsed Hillary Clinton.
3/5/2008 3:39:15 PM

3/5/2008 6:22:32 PM

3/5/2008 6:44:04 PM
^^I will if you will stop talking about shit that doesn't make sense.
3/5/2008 8:56:47 PM
I think it would have been a more telling sign if Bush hadn't endorsed McCain. That would have exacerbated existing rifts within the party.McCain probably isn't the biggest person fan of Bush. He and his adopted child were on the receiving end of our good friend, Karl Rove. That, and McCain's attacks of soft money helped annoy many of the people that Bush courted and Rove used to build his supposedly invincible Republican majority.
3/5/2008 10:03:20 PM
What amused me about this story was the media saying that the endorsement of McCain by W wouldrally conservative support. Ha. Could the media be any stupider? We all know it is a right of passage and means essentially nothing. Anyway, W is generally polite even going so far as to not take pot shots at Clinton all the time. Its not like there are not opportunities. Its how he was raised, unlike the peanut farmer and slick willy the elder and younger Bush respect the office of the presidency. That said W's fiscal spending policy sucks and he has not done a good job of explaining the war against ISLAMIC terrorism. And the meaning of "compassionate" conservatism seems to somehow have morphed into populism with a hint of self-reliance.
