... I went to advance auto to get some replacement lug nuts. asked the guy behind the counter to confirm the style of lug nut that my factory honda wheels are, and he pulls up a picture of the oem lug nuts I have and says that they are "acorn nut, bulge seat". I had seen some pretty black ones on the shelf that said "acorn nut, bulge seat" ,so I decided to get them. When I got home, I did a side-by-side comparo of my OEM nuts to the new ones. they dont seem to match. In fact they look exactly like what I thought was tapered seat acorn nuts that my aftermarket wheels use. the package clearly states bulge seat.I googled, but with no success.what type are the factory honda steel wheel lug nuts?

bump i needs the info.

no love?
3/10/2008 12:08:10 PM
type?acorn 12X1.5 is the size.not sure what else you need.the stock ones are like thisaftermarket, like these gorillas are like this,[Edited on March 10, 2008 at 12:20 PM. Reason : ]
3/10/2008 12:15:39 PM
here's all i know. maybe it'll help:taper seats come in bulge and plain.third from left is plain taper and far right is bulge taper.i would assume you'd need the kind on the far right.
3/10/2008 12:18:35 PM
im surprised autozone/advance doesnt carry them.check carquest too.
3/10/2008 12:21:24 PM
advance does carry the nuts. I just got the wrong ones. baonest, the first pic is the correct lug nut (factory replacement). the second lug nut type is what I ended up purchasing.comparing casummer's pic with baonest's first pic, bulge taper is not the oem type. for some reason the parts catalog at advance auto says that "bulge taper" is the oem application for my steel wheels, when it is not. ima return the black ones and getting the regular short chrome ones (like baonest 1st pic)... and hitting them with the rattle can.
3/10/2008 9:14:44 PM
yeah. the first pic is def. the honda ones.the 2nd pic i posted is the aftermarket lugs you would need if you have other rims. if you use those i think it just digs into the rim, or the lug.
3/10/2008 10:33:43 PM
^agreed.

I'm sad my Hoosiers don't have white logos
3/12/2008 11:41:16 AM
white letters ftw.so i chose to paint my old lug nuts after a shitty attempt to return my others and find a complete set of replacements.
