that i saw on eBay from a dealership in Alabamathat has a clean carfax and one owner and under 40k mileswhy would you NOT do something like this?
3/4/2008 12:38:51 PM
I've done the same for cars in several states.... might as well. Just be ready to leave if you aren't happy with the car and/or it isn't as described.
3/4/2008 12:39:42 PM
yeah thats the only thing i can think of...but there are plenty of pics and positive feedback from the seller/dealership
3/4/2008 12:40:56 PM
weak. i'm driving a 1973 chrysler from colorado to nc next week. i expect to maybe make it to kansas.
3/4/2008 12:42:53 PM
ive done that exact trip (well, vail to raleigh) in 24 hours with 2 friendskansas suuuuuucks
3/4/2008 12:45:47 PM
yeah, in all seriousness i'll be avoiding kansas. been there, done that. easily the most miserable state out of the 38 i've driven in. 24 hours from vail is making pretty damn good time.

we only stopped for gasand most times we were switching driver/passenger at speed on the highway (no cars around to be safe)[Edited on March 4, 2008 at 12:55 PM. Reason : .]

never been to kansas, i guess it sucks about as bad as montana/all big wide open flat states?
3/4/2008 12:55:51 PM
and no mountains to look atjust flat except when you're in the hills in the eastern part of the state

3/4/2008 12:59:53 PM
no, they did away with the no speed limit thing. however, it's such a rural state you'd have to try pretty hard to get a ticket in most places. it is definitely a beautiful state to drive through. so is wyoming.
3/4/2008 1:05:49 PM
they don't call it big sky country for nothing, this is somwhere just north of yellowstone but south of billings if i remember:[Edited on March 4, 2008 at 1:15 PM. Reason : .]
3/4/2008 1:13:06 PM
that's pretty wicked
3/4/2008 1:18:13 PM
speeding in montana less than 35 over is still just a 5 dollar citation though. but you do get points on the insurance.
3/4/2008 5:47:26 PM
i know one place there's not a speed limit... http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z214/OldFarmMotorsports/Utah/?action=view¤t=000_1006.flv[Edited on March 4, 2008 at 5:57 PM. Reason : .]

how even is bonneville salt? from videos it seems very bumpy to drive on...[Edited on March 5, 2008 at 7:40 PM. Reason : agfa]
3/5/2008 7:40:02 PM
not at all, it's very smooth unless you find a soft spot that someone has drive through or something. especially the actual "track", which is checked and groomed each spring when it's first setup then again during the two major events. however, the salt sticks to EVERYTHING. really annoying stuff. it reminded me a lot of nc red clay in how it plasters to your shoes, tires, undercarriage, etc. it can also be very wet/soft until in the spring/summer because of more rain and lower temps in the fall/winter. it's not uncommon for people to get stuck in some areas, especially heavier vehicles. like these guys, at the entrance to an ohv/orv area about 25 miles from bonneville (similar surface):[Edited on March 5, 2008 at 7:55 PM.
