I'd call around but I'm at work right now, so I'm looking for general figures for a 4-door sedan, all 4 windows plus back window.

Anyone ever manage to bribe an inspection station into overlooking illegal tint? I'd hate to have to scrape it off and pay for tinting every year.

^I just think cars with tint on the windows but not on the back look funny. I also like the increased feeling of privacy and anonymity that comes with being hidden from other drivers. Makes me less of a crime target if a boogeyman can't see into the car.

^yeah, that's me. If you tried it you'd have a blast. Most people get the hell out of the way when that thing comes up behind them.

I think I'll just tint it myself. I've gotten better and better with practice on my last car. Still get a few tiny crackles but the savings is worth it. $30 for film versus $200 for a pro to do it.

That makes sense-you can do it yourself every year when it ##### up for $30 or pay Pete $200 once and never worry about it again. Lifetime warranty son.

I would pony up 200$ before even THINKING about trying it myself.

But I cant do anything that requires that kind of patience.

how easy is it to talk to inspectors about front windshield tint?

i'm not doing anything illegal to the sides. my rear windows and windshield are stock tinted and i just want to get the front windows and windshield to match.

Plus, I dont want my king ranch seats to fade so front windshield tint is a must.

Yeah, I second Pete at TVP. He's definitely a pro at window tinting and does a damn good job for $200. Honestly, he's pretty cheap considering other places wanted 200-400. He does constant work for the Leith Dealership in Cary.

Get Pete at TVP, He did my G35, 4 doors and back window, even over the third break light for $200. Took him less than an hour

dude if you have privacy glass in the rear like i think you probably do its gonna be dark as hell and illegal as hell if you make the rest match.... to the point where cops would pull you over for it.

I paid $150 to tint my side + rear windows with 20% tint in 2004.

For inspection I always just slip the person a $20 for the "special" tint fee and my car always passes

*Knock on wood* but i have never had any law enforcement issues with my tint even after having been pulled over 3-times since i've gotten it.

Although I do know a guy who's truck was pulled TWICE just because of the tint. The ironic thing was that the neither time he was actually driving the truck. Someone else who was acting as DD ended up getting the shaft. I thought this was pretty retarded.

" hey pat feel free to drive my truck."
" thanks bro let me bust out my light sensor real fast to ensure your tint is legal!"

I'm all for tinting the rear. I don't know about limo tint, but having that tint makes my photochromatic rear view mirror obsolete, great for killing headlight glare at night.

^i've got the privacy glass on my f150 and the auto-dimming rearview mirror. And you are right, at night (especially in the rain) it becomes almost useless and more of a disadvantage. Thankfully I have a sliding rear window so sometimes i roll it down to help.

ok so Im new to window tinting. I didn't realize there was different kinds to get. Im purchasing a new vehicle sometime this week. Its either gonna be a red mustang or red charger. I already knew that mirror tint is out I suppose its best not to go with cheap stuff for this either. From the multiple threads I see that Pete is the man. I will bow to his knowledge.
