okay, so i don't know if this is possible, and if it is, i'm not sure how to go about doing itparents have EVDO through an original RAZR, connected to their computer via USB...no problem, this works just fine (they use this as their sole source of getting online where they live, since the only other option is dial-up)what i'd like to do, though, is push that internet access from the RAZR, through the computer via the ethernet jack, to a cheap wireless router i picked up...is this feasible? if so, what is it i need to do? i've tried connection sharing, but i'm assuming i'm missing something (i've never tried this before)while it's hardly a fast enough connection to want to share between 2+ computers, when i stop by i'd love to be able to get online via wireless (since they're rarely using the computer that has the RAZR hardwired into it)

it's possible..using internet connection sharing built in to XP/Vista works fine. i'm not sure if that's an option or not for your case but it's still possible to set the computer connected to the razr up as a proxy server and have other computers connect to it for internet access..ONCE I saw this crazy as shit wireless hub that you basically put a PCMCIA data card into and it would connect to the internet and act as a router for everybody else. i really wish i had bought it.. its a weird triangle looking thing... shit lemme try to find it, hold onTHIS is what I was talking about...http://cgi.ebay.com/Top-Global-3G-Phoebus-3G-Wi-Fi-Wireless-Mobile-Router_W0QQitemZ330214798786QQihZ014QQcategoryZ44997QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting[Edited on March 2, 2008 at 2:43 PM. A couple months ago, we bought one of the usb wireless internet adapters from alltel. Hell of a lot faster than dial-up and you can take it anywhere. Today I bought a Belkin wireless router from Walmart for about $40 to see if I could get multiple computers on it. After about 30min of playing around with the settings, it works like a charm.

http://tinyurl.com/29ed7mI had one of these at work doing some testing for a while. Had a sprint 3g card in it and it rocked. Brought it home one weekend and was absolutely amazed at how well it worked.[Edited on March 3, 2008 at 8:41 AM. Reason : .]
